car losing charge when turned off!!

have a 1.7td astra van 1999 plate.. after you have bin in it and turn it off and lock it up somthing is draining the power and the batt goes ded.
its deffo charging as i have checked with a multi meter.. pluss if you take the earth lead of and leave it like that the connect when you go back to itt it starts up..

few other things i have noticed..
for a while the ignition was playing up and wouldnt make the starter work.. i had to wire it up on a switch (now works again)

if you put the steering wheel on full lock and hold it there the stero will go off.

if the door is open when car is running the interior light flickers

if you rev it the lights go brighter

i was thinking this was an earth fault so have check and cleaned every earth.. still does it

then im thinking could it be the dodgy ignition?

has anyone eles bin through this? or have any ideas?

my Nova 1.5TD did similar things when I needed a new alternator, crazy disco lights when using anything electrical, indicators flashed when I put my headlights on, lights getting brighter when revving and headlights would flash when I used my indicators. All of these stopped the moment the new alternator went in.
