so anyway ive done the deal and hopefully pick it up tonight.
its really clean everywere apart from the front wings so to cut a long story short ive got another car and the novas still not on the road.
anyway let me know what you think its a 1300s auto.
you spawny cnut. i want. should be the same engine as a early sr...
That looks really good mate, you needs a 1400 SR engine and manual box for that i reckon, just so happen i have one lol
lolz, that may have a varajet carb on it ricky....
spudders, slam panel much? :d
No can do mate ive had an offer on the whole shell, anyways offtopic much :p
it might actually be the non S model... with the lawnmower carb on it & 8.2:1 compression..... perfect for a turbo
oooh yer...... if so, id bolt gte injection on and a t25 and have fun.
spud yhpm...

me likes that idea ive already had loads of thoughts haha.
and as for the other comments cheers.
and spud i might be interested in the box but it would have to have a flywheel with it.
im not changing this engine as its 55k and it runs mint the only rot ive found on the car it the hole on the wings and the bottom of the front wings il get more pics up tomorow night.

Beast , are you planning anything for the mk1 shell after you rob the engine.
im not robbing the engine lol
the plan was buy the car nick the engine n scrap the rest but once i saw how clean it actually is the plans changed to test this and smoke it around whilst making it manual and making it clean so i still need an engine and box for the ermm........... oh yeah nova haha.

very nice mate, i agree with the 2.0 8 valve on 45s, would suit the car down to a tee, along with a slight drop and stiffen up and some wider steels... just a thought :) :thumb:

i think it should go down the euro look and most def an 8v engine
really lovin that! sell it to me lol
have a good poke under the pedals... they love to rot there.
the tina is a mk5 pinto power was for racing but it hes not racing it hed rather sell it i think he said he wanted £600ish for it and i wont have chance to get pics of it as the pic was outside the fella's yard and the astra has been droped off now but next time im passing il try n get pics of it.
im liking all the ideas but its stoping std for now, when ive got my other **** to sort before i start modding it haha

is it a square shaped carb mate?

Nice! Hope the rot is just in the wings, for the cars sake.
I nearly posted 'donor!' when I read it was an auto.
sloth yeh the carb is a square one with one bolt to hold the filter on. so what does that mean? are them sorts of carb good or bad?

i had a pritty good look round it before i bought it and couldnt find anythink else im gonna have a right good luck later on today (if the rain stops) and get the wings off to see behind them.
And if it turns out to be fooked or have major issues it will be a donor lol.
and ive give just the right amount of money for it that i could just knick the engine, fill it full of scrap and stick it on the weigh bridge but i doubt itll get to that haha.
thanks for all the coments.
Yup shes a varajet, when working, theyre excellent, when fooked they aint, keep an eye out for a spare, oh and the auto box would be perfect for someone to auto a nova....

i have got more pics but i can't be botherd tonight.
also wants the headgasket doing as it had no water in it and the fella i got it from has been running it like that.
you coverd the number plates on the astra but forgot about the nova lol
ah who cares about that old piece of scrap lol jokes
i did actually erase the reg on it but it musnt have saved. oh well
if you've found rust near the pedals, remove the carpet and all sound deadening (or how you guys call it).
if it's rotten there, prepare to weld a few days..
other places:
corners of A pillar (where the front wing meets the sill)
top of A pillar
sills
rear arches
rear spring holder
rear chassis legs
also, if you break it, i want the topmounts!!

dibs when you sell complete lol :thumb:
lol mayhem i will have a look were you said but the sills are pretty mint the bottom of the wings were it meets the sill is starting to go but il wip them off n just check behind them.
problem is, the dont have inner wings, so crap get's stuck between the A pillar and the wing.
i have some pic's of the welding on my astra mk1
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/mayhem22/Foto0287.jpg
this pic shows why you dont want a rotten floor (euro passenger side).
that chassis leg holds youre bottom arms, and if that breaks, you end up with a wheel setup that goes hard left while youre going straight ahead.
luckely, i found it in time, and the leg wasn't rotten yet, it was only the floor.
ok thank you kind sir i will check that today and let you all know how i get on.
