right i spoke to my bloke today who is doing the nova let,he said i need to get

a retop(small) battery, ive had a look on rallydesign aint got a clue what one to get,are they different for turbo cars,(dont want a big battery in the boot)

also he said i need a dumpvalve, stuck on this to as im not running a afm,ive seen the bailey evo ones, but it says you must run a afm, needs to handle between 20 and 30 psi ,need it as he said aswell that its better for my turbo as i can damage it if i stool it lol,its got a gt2860rs turbo if that helps

Surely it would only effect idle if it was opening when it shouldnt?

correct me if im wrong but im shure both s1 and s2 escort rs turbo's use the dv26 twin piston dump valve that may be why?

no afm, I assume you are on aftermarket management...

IT WONT MATTER what type you use.... Rough Idle means you have a stupid Vac setup leading to the DV opening and causing issues (Saw that on Rob Twtichels astra at Combe a year or so back, chip just took off the vac line when idling in the pit lol)

The ones for 'use' with AFM's are the recirulating type (ie not gay)

yeah i am on aftermarket management (mbe),thats good then,i thought the twin piston ones got rid of rough idle tho,i may stand to be corrected tho

thanks stuart:thumb:

also these slimline batteries they wont kill my alternator will they

no they shouldnt mate but there will be a size somewhere on your battery (cant remeber where at the mo) if you quote that to the company they will be able to give you one suitable for the car any way!! or just tell them its off a nova and when i worked at ats they had a book stating what car needs what size battery they will be able to help you get the correct one any way fella!!

Stuart

all sorted now phoned rallydesign, they give me a number for a place that could tell me,i was only wondering with the battery,as my mate has got a mk2 escort with a honda civic type r engine in,and they got one of these batteries and it f***ed his alternator
