Talking to a lad on MSN that's on here (forget his username :( lol ) he says there was a Nova on ebay a while ago £24,000 had Skyline AYC, Carbaric Blue (sp?). Halp?
He needs help!
Never seen/heard of one..
Apparently had a recaro interior, 50k to build and a performance garage in England had it

active yawn lol control
i think
boring driver aid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Yaw_Control) type stuff that stops you scaring the **** outta your passengers. Unfortunatly.
I would explain it, but Wiki gives a better explanation & better pub ammo too.
Ah so its a diff that stops drifting... Sounds sh*t.

as my quote, yawn control lol
or promotes drifting if you set it up right ;) lol
AYC can be fun, if you understand what it can/cant let you do, rather than just assuming it gets in the way of the fun
Any pics/info on said car?
considering the nova was FWD id love to know how it has an active centre diff lol
Apparently had a recaro interior, 50k to build and a performance garage in England had it  how can anyone justify spending that and if they built it the labour wouldent have been added so thier trying to say it has 50 k worth of parts in it i dont see that happening:wtf:

It was protec who were selling it iirc I'm sure it was a stripped c20let, it was for sale on eBay for aaaaaages about 3 years ago. I've got pictures from the old egay ad somewhere.
Wasn't there a show recently that had a green hidous mental looking supercharged nova, maybe he's combining the two and adding the word Skyline to make them worth some of the money.
That green one with the 'charger poking through the bonnet is said to be something of a weapon. Function over form much. lol
The other £26k eBay thing with the Escos hex seats was said to be such a high price due to an impressive spec and the fact the customer didn't cough up for it so the garage were attempting to recoup their costs iirc. Parts/labour/storage/possible legal fee's. That could soon add up!

yea that supercharged one was at pv aswell it did look mental but looked awfull aswell!! and yes moffat it was in tv looked nice but i still wouldnt pay the amount they wanted for it on egay that is.

From what i was told at PVS it wasn't that fast. Doing mid 14s max. Ah and its sh*te up close, engine bay is full of plates and very bad welding.

I heard that too, Eaton M45 on a 2.0 probably wasn't doing it any favours.

Not the charged one, but the other 2.0LET'd one was as said, built for a customer & never paid for. It would cost that much & more having something of that spec built & developed.
People will happily dribble those kind of funds into a project over a few years but laugh at the prospect of paying the full amount upfront. Hence why Vauxhalls never fetch any money in one piece. Always have been & always will be budget motoring.

Would ayc have anything to do with: 4 wheel adjustable traction control, launch control, Bosch Lambda sensor

Possibly, any car nerds elaborate on this?
Cant do the rears as they arnt driven wheels..
the DTA can take inputs from rear + fronts to make traction/launch control, but no stability stuff in there
My mate used to own it, then he drove a 1,3 SR and realised it was quicker
killed himself
they spent £14.000 on the engine and it only puts out 440bhp at 2.2 bar i would not be impressed

Are you aware of the kind of workmanship and parts that is required to more than double an engines output? There's a reason there's no home build 1.6 turbo's running 300bhp...
boy i knows let is running 514bhp and its mapped wrong he told me the engine stand s him £8000

Steel rods
Lighter flywheel (Nova GSi flywheel)
Cams
Head skimmed + p&p
Exhaust system

Yeah you cold probably do it with a half worn turbo, out-dated ECU, 2nd hand parts etc. Any warranty given on that work?

this had some really nice touches i remeber it in tv. i love the way the intercooler and fan are cut into the grille and bumper that looks well cool.
but as stated i wouldnt be impressed with the amount off cash that went into it and they only got 400 odd bhp out off it lol still its a nice car though!
and lol spud if it did work like that eh!

Yeah you cold probably do it with a half worn turbo, out-dated ECU, 2nd hand parts etc. Any warranty given on that work? he built it him self so no warrenty the engine is in a corsa he uses it for drag racing but he has mot on it
boy i knows let is running 514bhp and its mapped wrong he told me the engine stand s him £8000
mapped wrong?
to me that means not enough fuel, or bad ignition timing.. 2 things that pistons dont like.
not wrong exactly just not the way he wants it and its not running full power he recons down on 80 bhp last time i spoke to him he was trying to wire nos up so that the maping would change when he hit full throtle and the nos would come on dont know if he was sucsesful <that made sense in my head
