Are all redtop engines 150bhp??
The early 20xe had 156 iirc because they didn't have a CAT

Not now no as the youngest of thems probably 15yrs old.
But the early ones had 156bhp and the later ones 149bhp due to the cat.
no such thing as a redtop.
Its C 'two litre' XE according to the parts man at my local vauxhall dealer lol

This is quite true, however a good friend of mine had his corsa on the rollers at midpoint garage over the weekend, never rebuilt, 120k+ miles, engine regularly serviced, standard apart from a p/cap and exhaust and it made 154.
ive seen 100k mile dispak xes with a de cat and filter make 173bhp. there are good and bad uns.

Yea as rod said below there are good examples and bad ones.

lol
Unless EVERYONE uses the same RR, same operator in the same conditions, you cant really RR compare figures.
true but that car did it on 2 different rr's. ;)
im with rob, my mates have seen high milage xes making very good power and seen some lower more 'average' milage xes making alot less. even speaking to engine builders, they've found some stock xes make more than book figures and some make less
i'm a firm believer in 5k oil changes and letting an engine warm for 5 mins. it loosens them nicely and they love it.
agreed rob, should never rev a cold engine hard imo.

Again - unless they are all on the same rollers, its tosh matey.
The old 'good' and 'bad' XE has been debated for donkey's years - I have owned millions of them and the 'bad' ones usually have something wrong with them (timing out slightly or sensor having a fit)
If the engine is running as it should, they will all make similar power ime.

troofslol
you knoes it, mr blydenstein told me that... it works too.
