I think they are quite nice (to look at). Only 90bhp though.
I assume the filler cap area rusts for a past time as with most Fezza's?

2001, its very clean had a wing replaced and sprayed from a car park dint im told. hpi clear as of 5 mins ago so all is good there
is it a faze 2 fiesta as the engines are alot better(stronger apparently),check the back arches aswell, plus ask if the heater control valve has been changed,as they always pack up,check the balljoints aswell, they waer quick, other than that they aint a bad car
they rust round the boot lid and arches and doors but not anything to bad and thiers a few diffrent one a.b.c i think so if anything goes wrong make sure you get it for the right car.

arches on fords go normally apart them that they are ok
Top mounts can knock, rust on the front floors too.
If its cheap, get it.

As said, they rust bad, at 99k its due a cambelt, often suffer with had to find engine management problems, nice looking cars though.
Best mate has one Its w reg rear archs are completly shot under drivers seat had to be plated and its had an engine rebuild and another engine put in it last week, Its lowered 40mm and with the escort cossie wheels its cracked the arch. But apart from that there good cars to drive imo and look good and have some poke

right i have a few worries now hpi check all clear but autochecker just flagged up the vehicle documents were reported stolen by an insurance company in 2004. this has put me off.
anyone provide me with any info on a situation like this?
If your concerned about it, go buy another, there are plenty of them about, if your set on one that is.
ive had 2 there nice little motors mate, considering selling my current one if your after one?
fairly clean and had a replacement engine from a phase 2.
if getting a phase one, they usually have a bottom end rattle at about 3k revs.
The heater control valves always break on them, meaning heaters always on hot or always on cold and not being able to alter them lol.. cheap easy fix though.
as said decent little cars and got enough poke for a small car

id agree if it sounds dodgy walk away and get another!!
buy a mint base model and fit a 1800 or 2.0 zetec. will easily eat one for brekkie.

My mate fitted EsCos wheels to his '00 mk5 Fez, basically a Zetec S/Puma hybrid and the wheels wouldn't even turn. The arches gouged the fcuk out of the sidewalls lol.
As said previously, if it's a ph1 look out for bottom end issues. Ph2 are stronger, dunno how/why. I have known two ph1's to throw rods though. One of the cars was repaired with a ph2 motor and had no issues after that. Complete with the same not so careful driver! lol
Said car was then sold to my mate with the FRP's mk5 for £450 after the other nugget bust the gearbox. One second hand box later and a good few £K profit was had. lol
I'd not bother with a ZS personally. Fit a 1700 Puma lump or even better, one from an FRP and the running gear. If you find one of the few hundred with an LSD 'box you're laughing! They are a piss easy fit for a Zetec based car, you can even run a 1.25/1400/1600 gearbox if you want (iirc). Endura based tappet monsters are a bit more faff but still relatively simple.
If you go this route and need any help then give me a shout. I've done a few of these now.
buy a mint base model and fit a 1800 or 2.0 zetec. will easily eat one for brekkie. i aggree the engines out of pumas are very fast and will fit right in thier.
err the 2.0 and 1.8 arnt in a puma, i mean mondeo or escy silvertops....
LOLz. ST170 FTW.
Puma's only came as 1400 (dog muck) and 1700 to my knowledge. My mate tells me there was a few 1600's though I do believe. Not 100% on that though, as it's been a good few years since we've had much to do with these things.
he still runs a converted mk4 Fez for his daily though. ST170 brakes, FRP inlet. Give's it a bit of shove. :)
limper there was a 1600, iirc its the focus 1.6 motor, theyre not too bad
Yamaha FTW.
We swapped a Focus 1600 16v into a dead ZS once. Everything was different lol.
yar, i still want a mk3 pop plus with a 2.3 zetec in it on jenveys....

both driver and passenger seats are common for breaking at the tilt bracket when you tilt the seats forward;)
