View Full Version : Euro car parts new system
I collected a new o2 sensor earlier on from a branch of ECP. To go with their shiny new building they now have a new system to ensure the correct part has been supplied. It is presented to you in a sealed bag...

Now maybe it is just me, but seeing as I wasn't wearing one of these

I found it somewhat difficult to I.D the part.
After some puzzled looks and a breif explanation, the guy returns with this

That's more like it! Even Clarke Kent could confrm it is the correct part now.

so they sealed any empty bag lol the thing that worried me at euro car parts was the guy had lipstick on
Nah not an empty bag. The part is inside the box, but according to the guy the part should be removed from the box and then seale din the bag so you can visually I.D it. I have trouble seeing through cardboard if they fail though.
Lipstick lol I bet he probably had nice smelling breath though. Better than being gassed like you do from some of the *******s in these places. "Woah mate, cover your mouth when you're talking to me" lol

I've got visions of when you open that bag it's going to smell of dog breath lol
I now see the point in the sealed bags, cut their returns costs in half! Seriously how do you know it doesn't fit until you take it out the bag? lol
You can match the plugs and confirm the wires are the same. It seems to be OK for checking an oxygen sensor, but I agree other things could be more difficult.
Dave, it smells nice in the bag. lol New plastic smell ftw. Bet Brains had lipstick marks on it. lol

Maybe the guy smokes those plastic quit pens lol "Euro Car Parts" Sealed with a loving kiss. lol
Perhaps they just do it to you as your reputation preceeds you!
lol I thought my rep was beyond repute.
meh i use our local small parts supplier, where they sell "motorsport" sunstrips and all sorts of retro cool.... ecp's muppets tried telling me that celica disks were all the same, and i must have "another toyota coupe", idiots.
said local boys matched the disks to a lexus gs300 and the pads to a landcruiser.... cheaper too....
ECP were the cheapest for gen gear this time around. i do agree though, shop around FTW. lol @ different Toyota coupe. the first that comes to mind for me is the Paseo *shudders!*
paseo, a starlet in ferkin drag.....
or a sera, "todays idea, lets catch fire spontaneously"....

Don't start me on ECP. I thought 'funking great!' when I saw their huge depot open literally 3 miles from me.
Went in there to ask a few parts which, tbh, even the smallest factor would have. Gaskets and hoses etc.
The guy didn't even seem bothered to help out. Told him the car and soon as I said what I needed he immediately said 'don't do 'em' without even checking the bloomin' system.
Probably won't make much of a profit on them bits so bascially wanted to get rid of me.
Funny how they had a huge banner outside the entrance saying 'ANY CAR, ANY PART'. Bullsheets more like.
AllParts FTW
tek how big is your sig man?
Any car any part is a bit bold lol I'll have a genuine ford shell for a Model T please
"hai mr euro car parts, id like a brand new c20let with all ancillaries, and a new nova sport shell for it. kthxbai!"
epic fail on thier part tbh.

I work for Euros in the GE dept. I now speaking the the branches that there is no returns on electrical components, because people use electrical components for fault finding then return them as new... Costs alot, as parts can be pulled all over the uk within 12hours and then there is no trace of what when or how whent the part is sold to antoehr customer buggered.
I'm quite lucky as I go out in tot he warehouse and just check first :) although i still get some lary looks...
I've questioned the "any part" statement as is it pure bollox. They sold off all the nova panels last year :( skipped aload of ols car parts too! You can buy complete engines though... I priced up a C20XE lol
how much is a complete redtop lol
and i thought their statement for any part would mean, they phone the main dealer and get one from them if they dont have an alternative.
and is there any small print about the "any part" statement.
peice on complete xe please. srsly.

Do they do LET's chimp?
They should rip that any part any car nonsense down tbh. It's just gonna be a retaliation ammo for when things go wrong with the customer.
peice on complete xe please. srsly.
Surely they'll just get a refurb from Vaux at £1500 ish and then add their percentage on top? Or are there other large scale engine refurb places out there?

I was going to say they probably deal with recon motors from various sources. 'Vega' springs to mind as one.
A new engine would only consist of a rebuilt long motor, so you can discount any manifolds, sensors, loom etc etc. So basically it's probably cheaper to have a rebuild from a trusted local engineer, than a pattern parts lottery.
