How much do you need to paint? The whole shell? inside and out? boot/bonnet/wings/doors/engine bay? Iv just done mine, Iv used 4L doing just the shell inside and out IE not doors wings etc. Then 1L of clear coat.
But I only needed to buy 3L of base as I mixed it 3-1-10% with thinners and harderner etc...
and same with clear coat.
Plus primer!!
I'm painting The whole outside of the shell inside of doors the door and boot shuts and the engine bay

basecoats dont require hardner only thinners and its a 2-1 mix as for laquars and solid colours or direct gloss then its 2-1+10%
I'm sure last time I bought basecoat it required hardner

i got 2k high build primer and that required hardeneryeah some primers do but the one that you just mix with thinners is better is dry in 15 mins lol even when using it in the winter with no heat
What are you painting it it? Direct gloss? Or base and clear?
Base and clear, being that you'll be thinning the Base(colour) 50/50 with thinners you dont need as much. (think 3lt will make 6lts when thinned)
2- 2.5 lts of base will do the inside and out on a Nova.

Some useful info here.
I'm doing my nova in a 2k, I gather I won't need laqure?
Ffs. 2pac is just what its made with and so on.
Direct gloss (flame red or brezze blue) is paint that you thin and harden so no lacquer is needed (can be tho)
Base and clear, is a base coat like a metalic paint will have that you put a clear lacquer over the top. (Arden blue, silk violet and such)
So it depends what colours/style you are going for.
I'd always use base and clear, as the finish is harder wearing and more protected.

Carmine red.
A simple gloss then:)
plus you then have the fun of epoxy or poly 2K ;)

Whatever looks better, it's being done in my garage lol
Poly 2k.
You need paint thinners and harden, a few measuring cups (to mix the paint in)
But reds look soooo nice with lacquer over them. When i was at the bodyshop we did a mk1 Louts Cortina in direct gloss, but lacquered over the top, it was such a deep deep red its was awesome too look at, you could see in to the paint for miles..
