Drive along earlier and when i dipped the clutch the rev's stuck (almost like the throttle cable was still pressed) So i turned it off and quickly flashed the codes, and got 15 back which according to Topbuzz is 'CTS High voltage'

Would a dodgy CTS cause the rev's to hold like they were? It has been popping a bit too..

How high were the revs holding? Cold idle speed as if the choke was out?

The CTS tells the ECU how warm the engine is and adjusts idle and fuel mixture IIRC. If it's knackered then it was falsely inform the ECU it's cold knocking the revs up to warm it up.

read this, make sure you read the right bit for your system:

You might also have a loose wire on the CTS worth giving it a check first.

Thought that Southie...

Rob, i'll have a read ta.

Tek : the rev's were sticking where ever i dipped the clutch, 2-4k normally..

The engine was warm, its an early dizzy XE with lambda. The fault seemed slightly intermittent, majority of the time it was on, but did go a few times for 2-5 mins a go..

oo-er :p

Its was fine for 15 or so miles, then tootling down the road, about to pull up, changed from 3rd to 2nd and (didn't realise the rev's had stuck) it accelerated. hmmm, ecu light on. flashed codes as above, got 12, 15 & 31 back..I know what 12 & 31 are...

had this problem with mine ended up the wires were pretty rottern as they sit on the front of the car they can just get caught in rain and corrode causing crappy signal

I had the same problem, fault code didnt come up as that. Check the wiring to the idle valve, my connector doesnot have the metal bit and would slip off after some hard driving and engine moveage!
