Awaiting getting a chevette.

Im feeling, a cherry bomb = retro ****er exhaust, as fitted by baz and daz to their rotten xr2 circa 1995.

and some 15" bbs style rims = scene kid wheels, overpriced and not that good. try revoution rfx's in 14 inch flava.

284mm turbo brakes = wont fit. do some research.

And 80mm down = coilies then? lots of work....

Anyone any ideas or pics?.

matt you will be needing the cherry bomb some 14inc max wheels (wellas was the wheel of choice for alot back then) and maybe some 1inch or 1 1/2inch lowering springs/blocks to keep it period imo. I have a pic of my dads 2.4 blydenstien converstion somewhere that he used to rally i willtry and scan it in for you

you need spacers between caliper and hub sometimes, and you can use astra disks but they need lathing down. if he is going period, he needs volvo 240 4 pot calipers and carlton 2.2 disks.

284mm brakes bolt streight on.

Darcy put them on his kadett, with no mods?

Also, you can buy 80mm springs?

And ill be stitching the front turrets anywaylol

i'm assuming you have the irony board out at the moment....

the complete front axle assembly on a chevette is a self contained unit. the springs don't directly contact the body, but the dampers do.

284mm brakes bolt streight on. orly?

Darcy put them on his kadett, with no mods? id like to know what he used, seen as the hub design is totally different and the disk is sandwiched between the hub and bearing carrier.... thus the later external disk setups require machine work to fit, as i stated.

Also, you can buy 80mm springs? for a shove-it, no. the lowest springs avail are spax 60mm. unless on coilies

And ill be stitching the front turrets anywaylol thats nice, whats that gonna achieve?

as for coilies, the front upper a arms need strengthening to use them, as the mounts are not strong enough. you buying a hatch or loon?

rob, stichting the turrets will stop them breaking under the load of coilovers.

and you can fit manta springs, so they should do down 80mm, lookon german ebay.

and rob, the advantage of the sandwhich style brakes is that the calipers dont poke out as much and thus smaller wheels clear them.

rob, stichting the turrets will stop them breaking under the load of coilovers. i know but i have still seen them pull the turrets out. even when stitched. its a design flaw...

and you can fit manta springs, so they should do down 80mm, lookon german ebay. the manta weighs less, its known that this doesnt drop them as much, more like 60mm. ;)

and rob, the advantage of the sandwhich style brakes is that the calipers dont poke out as much and thus smaller wheels clear them.
i get the advantages, but my point is its not a simple bolt on job like a nova.

Odd.

But I wasnt there when he fitted them.

He swore to me they bolted streight onto his kadett?
