If i were to put in a modded (80-90bhp) 1.4sr engine in my 1.2 nova what sort of brakes would i need to stop it?

GSI/GTE?
16v?
i think v6 are overkill.
its just the front disks and calipers i want to change. Or do i have to change anything else?
thanks.

ok well the brakes u have on now are the same as on an sr.

what wheels do you have on?

if there bigger than standard then you can go for 16v brakes
if not then nova gsi/sri are pretty good

14-175- and i think 65.

these from auto-vaux.co.uk
256x24mm 2.0 cavalier brakes
or 236x20mm nova GSI?

will they both fit?are the cavalier ones overkill?
I think the GSI ones are probably the best to go for.

Do i just swap the discs and calipers? Or do i need to change hoses and stuff? Sounds fairly straight forward.

for the astra gte ones think you need to be running a 15'' wheel for clearance, the nova gsi one will fit not a problem under the 14's

your only possible upgrade path without changing your wheels would be nova sri/gsi and you would need to change callipers/discs/pads, hoses etc will be fine.

depends on the wheels

if they came from an astra GTE or 2l cavvy they will fit fine

look on the actual wheel see if it says 5.5J or similar

u need at least 5.5J on 14" for 16v calipers
