After fitting my k&n on my 1.2 i was left with two breather pipes. Most people have told me to block these up and leave them to the side. I ran the engine for a bit without blocking them and a load of green goey shite shot out.

WHAT IS THIS STUFF HAS ANY1 HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE???/

don't block the larger pipe it is a breather (it needs to breath duh!) you can leave it in open air or you can get a small piper x filter for it. you can block the smaller pipe off without any probs

I had this problem on my 1.2, the goo that came out of the pipe stoppped when my radiator was empty, this later turnde out to be because the head gasket had gone and the oil and water were mixing!!! not pleasant, left me stuck miles from home with a shagged engine!!!!

oh yeah, it costs almost as much to have the head gasket replaced as it does for a 1.3sr engine(that's what I did!!) much better than 1.2,and now I have a gsi!!!!
