I been thinking about the f20 i got to go in the shed...and i want to have a 5th gear which has no other use than long distance cruising, ie sat at 70 -80 at about 2-2.5k rpm...its been a while since ive acutally driven an xe and im sure its more around 3.5k

are there any other gears that can be put in to do this?

IIRC you want the 5th gear from an F18 :thumb:

You wanna stop being a tight4SS & put an F16CR in there.

do this and then get the 5th from a f18c, this has longest 5th you can get:) this is what iv got for my astra diesel

i thought F16 meant it could take 160lb/ft and F20 was 200lb/ft

the f20 is deffernetly the stronger box:)

As previously said, you can use the long 5th gear from an f18 in an f20 to give you much better top end without losing the acceleration :thumb:

i disagree, i think now due to age and wear the f20's are weaker and battered and the f16's are generally in better nick, thus being the better box. its only bearing thats different....
