hi all finally got my c20xee nova on the road today and when driving it about 10 miles from my house lost all gears! None of them work! The selector finds them but nothing else!
Clutch cable looks fine and selector work ok too.
What could this be? Its a c20xe nova and f16 close ratio box

Does the speedo move when in gear, and clutch out?

If so, shafts out.

Speedo moves when in neutral when been towed! I can put it in any gear when been towed with the clutch up and theres no crunch's! Shaft wise its cav inners gte onters.

If speedo moves in neutral, that seems ok.

Erm, whip gearbox off and have a look.

yeah im a panel beater so not really into mechanics at all! How long does it take to drop the box? I have an old f16 here i can use as spares! Lol!

Fit an f20 then (I have one forsale lol)

But seriously.

Theyre alot stronger than the f16.

check the clutch & input shaft.

john take the inspection plate off the end of the box,if you remember when you bought the box the circlip had come off and resulted in having no drive at all but you can engage all the gears but it doesnt move.

oh yeah totally forgot that! So can i put a circlip on without takin the box off? Wheres the inspection plate? Why does the circlip come off?

The plate im talking about is in the passenger front wheel housing area where the gearbox earth goes to,ive no idea why it comes off you bought the box lol

No need to remove gearbox hopefully, if you remember i took the box off when i fitted it for you last time to find out if i had done this next step i wouldnt have needed to.

If you take the plate off and push the left hand side (as you look at it)shaft back in it will engage back in the engine just watch for the clip falling out when you take the plate off,its worth going and ordering a new one i think since its done this twice.
