went to shops early afternoon 2day, car's (sri) bin running fine apart everynow an then at idle it sumtimes drops a bit an shudders but i know the timein is slightly out, an doest realy make a a big enough diference for me to realy notice, so anyway i went to start car to go back home, (just a short 5min journey) an it wouldnt start, diditn even fire up, just sounded like the starter motor was runnin out of power or sumtin, it just made a faint very weak turn over sound, so anyways i put it in gear an bump started it in no time, drove fine on the way home, no props , turned off engine at home an then started it again an it was fine!!?!! an ive just tryed again about an hr or so later an its still fine! any ideas wot this mite hav bin?
P.S. it has bin raining alot at the moment is thats of any relevance!?!

bad earth drainning battery or just an old battery, or faulty alternator?

sounds like it could be the distributer cap?
Spray some wd40 on, in and around it.

ive always depressed the accelerator to the floor quickly, released, turned the key and then lightly pressed down again with my novas seems to fire them up a lot quicker than just sitting there with the key turned doing nothing else

sri's seem to be the best at startin usaly, i just turn the key and it starts instantly, my m8s is the same.
the funny idleing sometimes can be if u have decated, and the starter prob sounds like the batery was dead for some reason. did u leave the lights on or something? or something else was draining the batery? was it raining at the time? maybe something is shorting out?
when u say it tried to turn over, was it just a click or did it defo try to turn over? if it just cliced it might be the relay unit ontop of the starter.
