is this a straight swap with both the engines being injection??

i was going to fit an SR engine but couldnt be arsed to fiddle on with the ignition etc.

+ the SRI is more powerful as standard :D

no the sri is a pain to wire in cause the engine loom is intergrated into the car loom (same as the 1.2i)

if ur gonna do it get a 1.4sri corsa engine (or nova engine and corsa loom)

SRi is much much worse

the engine wiring loom is integrated into th car loom meanign u will either have to get the entire acr loom from an SRi or cut the engine parts out of the SRi loom

the fuel system is also different although i recon the spi pump would be able to handle the SRi fine

no

need the SRi/GSi pump in place of the 1.2 one.

u cant od it freak as the 1.2 pump sits inside the tank itself

and to aragorn...its not the actual fuel rate its the pressure in the sytem that the pump holds thats the problem, the force available in the fuel rail thats pushed into the injectors, if its low not enough is put in

ste has run a 20XE on standard 1.2i pump and lines

it ran.. albeit for about 3 months before burning out but it still ran

as CP, ste and a few others have pointed out - the 1.2i pump will be fine for the 1.2-1.6 engines its only the larger lumps that begin to strain it real hard

and if need be it can be swapped for a cavvy or vectra in tank high pressure pump at a later point if desired
