Hi all,

My lad has just got a Nova, with a C20 fitted, but the alternator belt has snapped, is it just a straight replacement belt for a C20 engine, e.g Astra, that will fit? , looks a bit of a tight squeeze to fit it as well ?

Also the car has got an exhaust that is far too loud and a guaranteed puller! , will a standard performance nova system fit to the down pipe or not? , or what are you recommandations you could give?? bespoke system, magnex etc??

TIA peeps

Belt will be a tight fit lol might need to undo the mounting bolts to get it on.

Yes, an Astra one will fit (any C20XE will IIRC, maybe give the engine number to be sure)

Exhaust, if the manifold has been modded to fit a standard Nova system then you should be ok.

The engine may be an ex Cav or Calibra model with PAS & auxillary belts, so the eng no might not help.

You can calculate the belt length with string or zip ties with the bracket loose allowing for some tensioning.

As for the exhaust, most XE's are always loud on a Nova. Adding a 2nd mid box is the way to go getting it silenced to respectable levels & make sure the rear 'can' isnt straight through or a chavvy bike can type.
