What do people use?

I was thinking of a jubille clip/T-bolt clamp and a nice new scalpel.

Any suggestions?

are you just trying to cut it straight??? wind some electric tape round it & cut against it

I am yeah Mowgli, got a couple of 90's 9don't get excited LEWI007) that I need to shorten.

I guess the insualtiont ape idea is similar to using a clamp. Anything that guarantees a straight cutting edge is fine by me.

Thanks mate.

They cut with no issue, however I need something to join 51mm ID with. Can I get mild steel (exhaust pipe?) easily in that size, or plastic?

I will replace with alloy, but it's hard working out fully what I need to do this right without buying loads of stuff I wouldn't have needed.

Exhaust clamps are around 51mm so exhaust pipe should be fine.

Oh, and i cut mine with a sharp stanley knife.

insulation tape stretches though & doesnt give a true straight edge, masking tape would be better, but the jubille clip idea is best. Measure twice - cut once.
