Never! lol

Tell me you wouldn't go for it if it was your only realistic way of getting back your plate though!

Oh yeah, your spelling and grammar should be illegal. lol

Pretty sure Craig wouldn't risk his MOT status over something like that.

What happens if you lose the plate, can't you just re-apply for it or re-buy it or something?

L14MNP

and I won't lose mine, as I aint the tester. Nowt wrong with being the customer though. lol

Yes i agree its 100% illegal. but they would never loose it because one. its never going back on the road, two its already stripped, and what would you do if you spent £700 on a private number plate. just let it go with the car. No didnt think so

Thing with craig tho if he was to do it, he could even take the car before he done it to make sure it would'nt go back on the road.

Probably. Having to is all kinds of wrong though.

The law was only brought in to stop dateless plates being taken from commercial vehicles and the like. No need for it to apply to every private plate, I mean it's not like then sticking it on retention or transferring it to another vehicle is free is it?!

This from the same people that 'own' the car you bought. lol

I wouldnt buy a plate.

Only sell them;)

And I dunno, but I wouldnt put it on the forum.

Its like an undeclared conversion/ringing etc, it happens, but do it on the slylol

There's talk of DVLA scrutinising things like this, but I suppose you COULD get a ticket on the car then drive the car to the scrapyard where it was instantly turned into a coke can. Cough.

Just because the car wasn't in an MOT'able state on a Tuesday doesn't mean it wasn't on the Monday when it had the test for example.

what if he takes the vin tags and reg plates to the mot station? as technicslly thats all the car is to the dvla?

Then what will they test?! lol probs will fail

Front facing VRM insufficiently secured or not secured at all

Rear VRM insufficiently secured or not secured at all

VIN plate in non-standard position. Possible tamper.

Jack, don't say Coke cans lol. They're not made from steel! lol

lol. Thicker than Nova steel, and probably better at resisiting rust given the lacquer **** they coat on them to stop the drink tasting of 'can'. lol

put the plate round your neck and the vin on your belt and run into the garage making car sounds and let it rip for the emission test

why would the DVLA turn up? MOTs have nothing to do with them :p

now, VOSA on the other hand...

Rich
26-08-10, 10:45 PM
Chance of vosa turning up is minimal, but if they do say goodbye to your job lol

Geordie-Chris
26-08-10, 11:13 PM
Haha, ask Novacabrio about VOSA turning up - just as he was driving the car off the ramp lol
I'm an MOT tester and as you've posted this all over the Internet so everyone knows what your up to I wouldn't go near it!!

I also have the same problem, have a private plate on a car that has been scrapped 3 years ago. as does two of my other mates. One of them got an mot and was then asked to show the car to the local vosa when trying to transfer his plate. needles to say he never went and still hasnt got it back !

I've had an MOT inspection guy witness or oversee an MOT on my 1st Nova. It failed on lots but came away feeling rather worked on.
