fit some off a 600cc. but apart from looking 'cool' when its parked, its a waste of money for the 1.2, you'd be better off fitting a 1.4 for less money, and the insurance might be better too.

£700 for a basic conversion.

Also, you'll have to spend loads in jets, as people aren't gay, and don't carb a 1200 lol

Personally, throw an xe in.

Even at 18 you can insure one for £1900.

And that's what you'll pay to insure carbs.

Well the answer there is nothing.

You need a custom manifold.

Then custom vac pipe for brakes.

Then youll need some carbs, suited to a 45bhp, 6500rpm 1.2 engine?

Maybe vfr400 carbs, or at biggest bandit 600.

R6 are designed for 600cc, 12500rpm and 115bhp.

Also, youll need them jetting, and setting up.

And, can you afford the insurance?

I got a quote last night, to add "modified fueling" or something, added £240

Thats doing a fake quote with no points etc

ok, alex... you get a manifold for a 1.2/1.3, i'm assuming its an old carb 1.2, not an mpi one...

then get some carbs off a 600, as the rule seems to be car engine = twice the size of a bike engine. then you need to sort out throttle cable, then once fitted, it needs a carb specialist with probably a rolling road, to actually set the carbs up.

that is basically it. you might need a fuel regulator, and a pump, incase the factory piston pump is too harsh.

if it is a 1.2efi, then you need to fit a different regulator & the original pump should be ok. then you need to find a square port manifold, which is a lot harder.

we are trying to talk you out of it because a stock 1.4 will produce way more power, be way more economical & cost you less on the insurance, and they will need to know if you change your carb type.

as stated above you would need a manifold (tom could supply), some carbs (ebay or bike breakers), ideally an external pump (facet cube) and regulator (filterking) - make a throttle cable (modify a corsa one) and custom alternator bracket.

tom did actually do a 1.2 8v with r1s a year or so ago and despite them being 'too big' and 'not working' according to forum opinions - having been in it a fair bit and driven it - it was a little stormer.

i dont actually mind the 1.2s myself, adding the carbs and a couple of other tweaks sees them want to rev forever - some people just dont seem to get that maybe you want to stick with a little engine, stick with the existing engine and just do something fun with it - get it going a bit better and make it more fun to drive.

EDIT - i do run r1s myself, on a 1.6 8v (i get the same with 'why dont you go 2ltr?' - because i dont want to, i like the 8v engines) so maybe im biased! just a little disclaimer!
