right was thinking the other day(not to much as would of got a headache lol),about these as someones on here snapped one,with there let nova,as i have got one is there any other way of strengthening them,my ones aint the gsi ones if that makes any difference,ive seen a kit think it was on here,but aint paying 400 notes for that,my bottom arms have been strengthend if anyone asks,just concerned really as dont want that happening to me
Its not exactly a common thing for he tie bars to snap. They usually break as a result of damage, servere rot or driving like a complete and utter turkey everyday!:thumb:

will have to see whats around with the gte and gsi ones,was just asking just incase someone done something different
who broke one on here? The only one ive ever seen snap, hadn't had the lug chopped off the gearbox and it rubbed on the tie bar, weakening it, then eventually failing. I'd go for some 22mm ones and decent bushes.

That looks like it may have snapped because it has twisted by being mounted underneath the arms on alloy blocks:confused:
thats the way everyone ones them,as the f28 box,at the tie bar sits close when on top
anyone got any other ideas

I suppose it would be possible to machine some, but the cost would be huge.
Or sleeve them, on my mates c20let kadett thay have done this, cut a tube in half, and then rewelded it over the top.
On the panard rods, which he used to snap often.
Not snapped one since:thumb:

if they have broken due the the twist angle you could file or grind the bottom part of the ally blocks so that the tie bar sits level against it, that way its not twisted as you tighten everything up etc

you couldnt sleeve them as the ends the bolt up to the lower arm will be taking all the stress,as with the kadett the parnard rods do tend to snap,my mates done the same on the mk2 cossie escorts

not sure how it would affect the metal but another option may be to take them somewhere thehave the ends heated + then twisted, when they cool they would then be at correct angle, you may want to check with company doing it as to whether it may reduce strength or not of the bar

Yeah could do,see what the place says,the car should be back in the next couple of weeks or so,then can have a good look then,ive seen one which has rosejoints,but heard that the rosejoints come under alot of stress and can snap
