View Full Version : Corsa b F28??
Right I thought I would get a better response on here over corsasport lol
Right if fitting an f28 to a c20let what is needed?
Will the mount need cutting off and re-welding like the nova?
Cheers joe
no. for some reason there are corsa specific f28 mounts available. you need to know if its a type 1 or type 2 mount. whats the corsa originally?
no you just need to buy a f28 mount mate, got one here.
type 1 or 2 wont matter rob as the box mounts in the same place ;)
the f28 needs the rear mount done the same as the nova(drilled and tapped) and the front box mount, just buy a conversion plate for it. job jobbed!
Right the Corsa is a s reg 1.6 16v with a let fitted on an f20 at a guess.
Also am I right in thinking that they strengthen the corsas with plates or seam welding or is it not needed?
f20 he can use the old f15 mount...
some people do strengthen them mate, i didnt on my old let corsa.
imo aslong as its a good solid shell then you will be fine, especially on a later sport.
they dont pull themselves apart like novas do
Yea is all in and working with the 5 speed box unsure what box yet thou. Hopefully should be buying it just waiting for the log book to come so I can check chassis numbers out.
Just checking an f28 isn't to much work as I will be wanting 6 speed I think. He wants 2200 for it but I might try and blag 2000
err the gearbox mounts are different between the type 1 and 2 shells, on a type 1 the mount is on the side of the leg, on a type 2 its underneath, sports are type 2 so when running an f28 he needs a mount off ebay.
as for welding, ive never done a corsa, and ive never had issues. if the cross member is rotten, then yeah sort it out.
my bad rob, i though they were all the same fella.
joe, ive got a mount here for the f28 ;)
anyways... pics of this corsa? it better not be red... i really want a red gsi let
Its Arden blue. And no gsi kit :( lol. Been chaved up abit lol search corsa turbo on eBay mate it's in newton Abbott. Matey who owns it works in halfords
Cheers Shaun handy to know you got a mount there. Need to source an f28 1st lol
looks alreet that mate, get rid of the manual boost controller though and do me a deal on the speedlines ;)
yeah i kept the mount as will probably end up getting another at some point lol
iirc with sports using elec clocks you can use an electric f28 mate. makes the search easier....
