View Full Version : please help driver shaft keep coming out

had do the gear box seal yesterday and today the shaft popped out and leaking gear box oil everywhere
can anyone help me with this ...considering stopping with novas all together???

well it's obviously not working properly if the shaft has come out. I'd replace it and make sure it goes back inthe box with a satisfying clunk :)

i was in all good as drove to work 16 miles away then at lunch when out to see mate and no leaks or anythink got to mate and it was pissing out and i push i shaft back in and drived it home and it ok at the min

you should jack it up so both front wheels are off the floor(use axle stands),get underneath it then start the car and turn the steering side to side,see if the shaft is pulling out when your turning it,also see what its like when the wheels are moving

This is extremely dangerous mate.

If the car wobbles, and comes off the stands whilst he is under it inspecting the shaft, it wont be pretty.

If your gonna do it, take the wheels off:thumb:

Wont that be just as bad!! Rather than the car landing on the wheels and giving him 6 inchs of air space - the car will land flat crushing him!lol

If youre going to do try it like that leave the wheels on and get someone to sit in the car to cover the brakes just incase and leave the jack underneath the sill aswell!

not if done properly,plus put something on the back wheels with the jack also holding the car aswell,done it loads of times,im still ok
