Its about £80 for a new iirc!:wtf: Doesn't it have to be checked by the police?

why would it have to be checked by the police? i have been told told by a mate that works for ford that vaux will supply them but only if you take the car to them for them to fit it, which i cant do seeing as its only a shell atm.
that vintagsuk look ok though. what about the legality of them though?

So people cant just clone cars and make theyre own VIN plates for cars that dont exsist or have been stolen! If you ask the vauxhall garage they could find all this out!!;)

If you have a carbon VIN plate or have removed the VIN plate for cosmetic reasons then the original has to be placed elsewhere on the shell!

well thinking about it, it wouldnt be cloning or making a vi for a car that dont exist because i have the log book and the chassis number that will all match. its just having a copy of what was there originally

Are you sure  - news to me

As long as you have the chassis Number stamped in the shell in the usual place thats OK

The original chassis vin plate does have to be attached somewhere on the body shell, ive been told by a friend who works with VOSA!;)

What about the other way round - I have a vin plate but no chassis number stamped in the floor pan.
Do I need it or is the vin plate enough ??

You need the stamp too IIRC. Else it looks like a cut and shut

Correct, a new shell without numbers stamped on it.
But have a logbook and plate of a scrapped shell.
