View Full Version : nova 1988 T40 1.3SR
Hi
got another nova a few weeks ago but havent had much time to make a project thread (not that theres much to do to it)
anyway i went 315miles to collect it (from doncaster to plymouth)
and then drove it 315miles home with a big smile on my face :d
and it drove like a new car :thumb:
anyway thanks again simon, and don't worry i will look after it
like one of my children ;)
not really done a great deal
next day needed a new battery
fitted a new timing belt
changed anti freeze
sorted out a little oil leak
changed oil again (gm filter)
fitted some original nova mats
fitted a new lock set
and thats about it so far
lots of cleaning and driving :thumb:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/syep2001/Nova%20SR/finishedfront1.jpg
now got its original trims on 13" wheels
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/syep2001/Nova%20SR/IMG_3016.png
sorry for using some of your photo's simon not had time to take some of mine yet, been to busy driving!
rep added simon :thumb:
looks stunning
look after it tho
Also got these of john h, last saturday for the SR
thanks again john :thumb:
I'm planning on getting them powder coated, but should i keep them silver
to make the SR look original or change them to grey like the wheel trims
(i like the look ok the dark grey trims, but want the three spokes on)
my other problem is i can get the alloys powercoated but not the plastic caps, they would melt in the ovens, so i'd have to get the painted, and hope they match
thanks for looking stuhttp://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l240/tooleater16v/sralloys001.jpg
looks stunning
look after it tho
thanks edd,
went to work this morning in it
and it rained, not happy

Stunning!!! :)
My first Nova (in 1993) was an E plate in the same colour, but had a different seat fabric design. Were E-plates on a 'change over year', or was there an option for either?

zildjian, yours looks great mate, have you still got it?
is it still going or is it dead???
i think mine is just on the cross over
got the older interior trim but the newer mk1 front bumper
(no snow plough or rainbow trim seats)
i think the only options were
sun roof and alloys/wheel trims?
does anyboby else know?
thanks again stu
GRRRR
Stuart - i'm liking this A lot! What a difference.
Bored of the carbs yet??? ;-)

less of the grrrrrr lol
i am looking after her, better than my wife
they do look well, just need to get the caps done,
i'm planning on removing the engine/box in a few months
and clean the bay rebuild the engine with lots of new
parts and lots of clean paint and stainless steel bolts etc,
the carbs are still not running smooth
so instead of paying now to have the sorted, and then paying again
when i rebuild the engine, i thought i'd put the
original manifold/carb back on for a bit.
but i dropped the manifold you gave me
and cracked it so i've just got one of dj wudgey :thumb:
cheers simon, glad you like
picked up the inlet manifold last night from dj wudney,
today sand blasted it, and afew coats of paint,
if i can't get a new part its got to looks as good
thats just me, sorry

Hope there is no shot in that manifold!! also, you may need to flat off some paint from the alt adjuster, as it needs to earth the alternator through the inlet. You may have battery power issues if it has a poor earth. Just so you know.
