im about to turbo my e16se engine and just wondered if you kind ppl think i should convert the rear brakes to disc brakes or not? im going to fit 16valve front brakes hoping maybe that will be enough as its only gonna be a 1.6 8v turbo. ive heard a few for and against storys about rear disc conversions ans wondering weather or not to bother as it is a budjet build asweell lol! cheers ppl
the discs look 1000% better than the drum setup. but they don't actually work any better. well maintained drums are easily as good. spend your money on bigger front brakes.
+1 exactly what mowgli said.
i have rear discs but have them connected to a bias controller to turn them down as locks up sometimes when driving hard.
they look 10000 times better though
they look 10000 times better though
Unless youve got really open spoked wheels you can hardly see themlol
But yes they do look better, more spec sheet modification than an actual purposeful mod! Rear drums will do the same job without all the hassle! As said bigger front brakes would be better suited!:thumb:
The only improvement is for looks imo
if there set-up properly they'll be much, much better than drums. If your just going to chuck them on there pointless apart from looks
