What engine you put in there then?

That looks like a nice unit you got there, better than working in the drive way like me!

See what you mean about the shell looks in nice condition.
How hard was it to get the master cylinder off as i have always been told to work round them as they are such a bitch to remove?

i fitted a !.6 8v GSi engine and box to this one. Fairly standard power wise, induction kit and FSE boost valve thats it.
The Shed is nice alright. a friend of mine (panel beater) works from there every day. Its was a 22x12 shed and last xmas we extended it in width. in the last pic you can see the end of the bench where the shed was finishing before.
Master cylinders in Novas are a piece of piss to take off. whoever told ya otherwise should be bitch slapped in the face!!! Four bolts inside the car and one clip also inside.
The car is GSi spec with full interior (from the wide arch shell) and other usual bits. Next sunny day ill take a few pics and put it in the features section.
We are currently preparing another GSI, again reshelling into clean shell. I will post pics of it when finished.
I used to wonder about the differences in a standard shell and a GSi one strength wise but i now have no problems using 1L etc shells as the wide arch car was rock solid on the road with all the rose jointing etc and the valver engine. it never showed any signs of cracking or breaking up.

nice colour - cant wait to see completed pics

on a health and safety piont though (god I'm a granny!) tut tut - balancing a car on 4 axle stands. Very unsafe - should use ramps at the front and axle stands on the rear.

For the novice boys and girls out there if you do this make sure you wedge some old types n rims under the car just incase it topples. Last thing you want is to be trapped under a car!

:x

My worst fear (that and being eaten by spiders! - or being trapped under a car and then havinfg spiders come after you!)

:o

Yes jules it is Rio Verde Green. i owned a 1.6 16v one the exact same as this one a few years ago and always wanted to build a clean one down the line.
just after noticing, Ben i presume you were on the same wave length as me when we were on about removing the "master cylinder"? obviously it was the servo we were on about!! but i think you were thinking the same as me so it made sence in our heads!!

a bit like the old "Altenator drive belt " saga we had.lmao

lol at the word saga

similarly to ade pointing out the axle stand thing to anyone who didnt know better, I made that point cos my mates mum was charged for both fan belt and alternator drive belt (and labour etc) on her 1.1 HCS fiesta. it was only when her brother looked at the invoice that he picked up on this and one or two other rip-offs.

i picked up (maybe wrongly) that he had been advised to have the belts changed to fix his problem, and therefore assumed he was easily sold. if i worded it harshly then my mistake, but i cant believe that 'never' in all brians time has he not heard that term

sorry if i created a 'SAGA' :)
