hi there been having a night mare with my 2.0xe nova first got the car she wasnt running then finally got her going.... she would start tick over just when revs were pick up backfiring and generally running terrible??? Today me and my m8 changed (All from known running car)
* Crankshaft Sensor
* Air flow meter
*Distributor & cap
*coil
* coolant temp sensor
*leads
*Ecu
We retimed the car bottom crank pulley marks at 6 oclock with cams at 12 all marks lining up...
she now starts and tick over properly but still backfiring when over 4000revs and ideas fuel pressure??? throttle sensor maybe???
ecu light on? codes?
(im guna say knock sensor it seems to be my favorite fault)

no ecu light dont know if its been wired up........ bought the car as unfinished project:( dont know alot about the wiring just been trying to look at wiring instructions think its right my fuel pump is connected to thin blue-red not thick blue-red would this cause it..... as the car starts and ticks over
i had some thing similar and had a bent valve that only showed itself as the revs went up

might not be m8, just what my mate said who built it is that not possible???? definatly got the astra mk3 pump because i bought a mk3 astra gsi 1993 the other day for all the bits car running sweet but rusty as hell £250 ;) and the pumps are the same bolted in under the seat!!!!
You can't fit an internal pump to a 1.0 tank as it will be a carb tank that rubs a mechanical fuel pump
it won't have a swirl pot inside either or a return pipe lol
