My non nova projects

got a few projects on the go all of which i need to finish and get rid of to sort my novas out so i dcided ill chuck them on here while i work through them, had about 12 months away from working on them due to my misses and my youngest being ill, but theyre better now so this is the progress from the last 3-4 months,
little bit lacking on pics because i have been trying to gewt as much work done as possible, im getting somewhere now though so ill update them s regular as i can with as many pics as i can manage.

started of with my misses corsa c first cos she blew it up and was pestering mre to get it sorted

i know its a fiesta but its a zetec s 64k on the clock and i swapped it for a ps3 which cost me £100 plus when i got it home i sold the zs wheels for £200 after refurbing them black and replacing them with the puma wheels from a pair of pumas i bought for £100

anyway on with removing the corsa engine

now the original plan was to fit a standard sxi lump back in but i got offered a 2ltr vectra for free so i got to thinkiing about dropping the eco lump into the corsa and how hard could it be. had a little look on the net and it dont seem anyone has tried it before, thats enough reason for me to do it, so i took the veccy lump out

cleaned it p and bolted on a astra dderv flywheel and a nova gte clutch so i could keep the corsas f13 box

then i decided it was going to be a lot easier taking the front end off to get the lump in than dropping it in fro above or below

cleaned and painted the bay and the gearbox

noticed when was fittingitthat ive somehow managed to crack the plastic water bar at the rear of the block so at the moment the drivers side mount is off so i can fit the new one when it arrives, thats as far as i got with the corsa because the fiesta had a fit and decided to throw its bottom end away so i needed to drop an engine into that i wouldnt have bothered but i had the puma lumps sitting there so i just used one of them

decided to use the lowest mileage of the engines at 38k

also found out when i took out the zs engine why the clutch was always spongy

replaced that with one from the puma cleaned and painted the engine bay and the new engine

also fitted the aircon from the puma whilst i was at it

got offered a bargain £50 exhaust full magnex stainess system and an ashley 4 branch/de-cat so i couldnt turn that down havent got a pic of the system

while i was changing the engine i got reminded why i went off fiestas in the first place all them years ar the arches

treated what i could with kurust and a wire brush and ordered a pile of parts to replace everything else

then wired up the puma fuse box etc, fitted the ecu and the chip from the puma key and reprogrammed it to open the fiesta locks. and it fired up first time. now my misses has heard it she wants to keep the zs but i have to paint it white doh.

so i spent all yesterday smoothing the bumpers and sanding some of it down, ill get pics of that tomorow

bought this about 2 years ago now, original plan was keep it black with white wheels and a redtop with white covers, took the lump out cos it was dead then bought a mk3 astra van with a c20xe fitted for £200 with a blown gasket then it got left, i was still picking up parts for it here and there, mhw rear lights morretes coilovers, grooved brakes few chrome bits for under the bonnet, fitting kit for the xe but nothing got touched until end of may this year i took the redtop out the van fitted anew headgasket and dropped it in the corsa

got it all fitted started it up and the bottom end was knocking its head off so i ripped it out and sold it as spares

my matews cav gsi best bit is ive done most of the work on it and i know its a cracking engine plus it genuinely has never been abused, its had a new clutch, haedgasket timing belt and service a few months ago then failed the mot so he scrapped it and i inherit the engine, only thing ive done is buy new plugs and a new water pump for it, oh and i painted the cam cover a new colour because where tha car is parked its picked up a few tiny dent so when i repair them its getting a colour change so the cam cover is the colour the car will be, porsche peppermint green, not everyones taste but i like it and it was the colour of my first car ( mk2 xr2)

i know theres a few bits missing in the pics but its all together now and is running sweet as a nut all thats left now is to fit the shafts brakes and paint her

finally onto the astra van which i only bought as a donor for the corsa. it was meant to be scrapped after the engine came out but after i looked it over its dead straight and theres no rot, rust or welding anywhere, it also had a gsi disc rearbeam full exhaust grooved discs and was lowere all round plus i had an interior for it from an astra i broke form u-pull-it the only thing the body needed was a new tailgate i already knew what engine was going into it because i had 3 of them sat on the garage floor. c25xe first one went in no probs fired it up and it sprayed water everywhere fro somewhere under the front bank couldnt be bothered working out what was wrong so i decided to rip it out and put another one in halfway through changing it i had an offer i couldnt refuse for the one i had left. trouble with that was te engine i was fitting was the only one i had left and i needed one to fit into my nove sr, ended up winning a vectra v6 cdx on ebay for £100 with that engine being an x25 not a c25 i knew it'd be hassle getting it into the nova so, thats what i put into the van after taking out the engine that wa in there AGAIN.
got it taking out and th x25xe back in on an f20 box today just gotta wire it up tomorow

the bay was all painted up nice and shiny but a combination of lost patience from changine the engine so many time and people dumping stuff on top of it over the last 12 months and its a bit of a state now and covered in dirt so thats gonna need a quick refresh then i have to decide what colour to paint the van

1.2 Is the one in the pic with the corsa just a j plate 1.2 failed mot on a patch on the rear spring hanger wanting £100 for it

deano123 i'v got 7 at the minute the ones in this thread plus a nova gsi a nova sr and a 1.2 almost forgot i have my old gte and gsi shells stored away as well

if it stops raining long enough i may be able to actually get them finished
