GTE wheels wont fit over the 2.0 brakes IIRC, you will need the 236mm vented discs and calipers from a Nova GTE/GSi or a Corsa GSi

all hubs are the same and 14" minimum steel rim when fitting bigger brakes like cali, cav and vectra etc. not sure on gte alloys.

but to be honest, 236mm venteds are not much of a upgrade, the same size caliper, pads & disc diameter, with a wider vented disc that stays cooler means you will not notice the difference.

some people have fitted astra mk3 236mm brakes, with the ATE calipers and they appear to be an improvement, but you have to be careful with brake to rim clearance, some 14" 3 spokes will fit over ok

unless you have upgraded the engine, standard brakes will be fine if they are maintained, these were used upto 1.4 engine. the 3 spoke alloys are direct fit, just put them on and go, if they are quality tyres makes the handling feel a lot tighter.

are you insane

throwing a maccy's cup attached to the car via a rope out the window has more stopping force then std brakes lol

Without wanting to sound a bit mattbrown-ish, didn't the three spokes come in two offsets, 49 and 47.5..?

That's what I heard too. I think sr 3 spokes are slightly different to Gsi ones in that the back of the spokes are straight on one and rounded at the top of the other. Can't remember which is which though, so please feel free to correct me as it's just what I read!

burgo, maybe you have been very lucky, cos some people have not managed to get their to fit.. but they might have had 4.5j rims.
