going to look at an escort

hi just some questions..
going to look at a c reg escort convertible not sure if its standard or whats been changed, it has series one front end/might just be me thinking it should have these bits on it. also it says rs1600i on the back, so it has the 1.6 cvh lump in it (still not sure if thats the right engine).
just gerneral what to look out for on these escort convertibles?
has tax and mot. roofs far from mint but does'nt leak which is one of the main things, but not sure where fords rot most?

escort mk3's rot evrywhere, its been messed with as cabs were never rs1600's. it will prob be a basic 1.6 thats been tarted up

ok cheers for that mate, did look it up but obviously found nothing. would it still be the cvh lump? its not bad, has mint rs turbo wheels, also most of my friends knew the owner before this guy and said he looked after it. just hope this owner has done the same

under the sideskirts presuming there fitted?
petrol cap
boot floor(important one as when roof leaks on rear the floors get fooked)
also the front footwells for water :)

battery tray, fusebox, front panels scuttle panel, front inner a pillars inside the arch, inner sills and the rear chassis rails are common too ive had my fair share of mk3 and mk4s and then never did a rs1600i cab and yes definately cvh should be carb on that year too

c plate cabby will be a 16i or an xr3i .... look out for rotski EVERYWHERE !

If it has the series one kit on and is white and injected it could be a an 'SE' which are quite rare....
