just been to get a crank sensor for my c20xe, was told there was two different types a 3 runner and a 4 runner which is the one i need thanks

What do you mean by 3 runner and 4 runner?

AFAIK there is a plastic sensor and a metal sensor and mountings are the same.

Its a 3pin sensor mate im running a 1.8spi cav plastic one on mine.

Buy either the both as good as each other, early ones were metal late ones were plastic !

the 3 was £25 and the 4 was £55, whats the difference between the 2 then, why could i use either thought i would need a specific one

they should both have the same plug on the and the same number of pins !!!
