hi guys just wondering on weather the front brake set up from the old 16valves (cav gsi, astra gte etc) would fit under a 13" nova rim or at least a 14" i need better brakes but like my steelies :)

iirc they don't fit under nova 13" steels and sr 14" steels. They won't go under sr 3 spokes either.

my mate had them under sr steels with spacers and if you shave the caliper they will fit under 3 spokes

I'd do it properly and fit untouched 16v brakes and get some correct sized wheels 5.5J x 14's clear I think but thats as small as you can go if I remember right

The other option is to get some 256x20mm front brakes from a tigra. I've never done it personally but have been told they'll go under 3 spokes and sr steels.

i wasn't planning on buying hairy callipers lol.
do u recon astra / cav 14 steelies would have better offset or is it all the same?

yeah go for some mk3 cav 14" steels, they'll fit fine.

na 14's are bigger than i want but like i said i need better brakes, cavy 14's it is then :)

They also come on corsa sport 1.6's, some mk3 astras and the like.

IIRC they fit under 3spokes fine.

I know from experience that those still need shaving. :)

EDIT: to go under both types of 3 spoke. You'll never get them under the 4.5J 3 spokes though.
