can you do an English version of that?
take this as a first and final text typing warning...
oh and if its standard its NOT 170bhp (and no an air filter and exhaust isnt suffcient to make it not std)

Have not got nos but I would like it chipped ecu and light wait fly wheel :thumb:
The flywheel waits? Is that like turbo lag for N/A engines? lol
oh how i roffled.....
chipped ecu? so its basically overfueling. mmmmmmm
How much power will a lightened flywheel give you?
an extra 20php, (pub horse power) as it makes it rev faster so the engine can make more ponies. dave, before making or beliveing power claims, always have a dyno graph to back it up. £5 says its making 140bhp tops.
Only Dave can play the how much power does a lighter flywheel give game.
you mean my billet flywheel doesnt really give me an extra 23 bhp:confused:
lol lol lol
short term, it is being a spoilsport, but long term when we get Daves answer it will be mucho fun

Std XE in 200bhp shocker!!
these engines are getting more powerfull as the years go by..
i think every year after there made adds 1 or 2 bhp. general wear and tear that increases power lol

So if I get one to keep in the shed, if I put it in somethng in say 20 years or so, I could be looking at having 240bhp, maybe more?
Would that beat a Civic Type R Y0?

Has he been on hormone therapy?
I though the same lol
who? stu, daves monster xe or ????
Red top is 197bhp standard, but the black top is what you want - 207bhp standard!
i think every year after there made adds 1 or 2 bhp. general wear and tear that increases power lol
you joke about general wear and tear, but the straight line guys tell me an older engine is a looser engine better for them.
p.s im not saying it gives them more power!
/\ kinda true, 2 examples:
1 our old courtesy starlet at toyota had done 210k miles, regular oil and filters, kicked its head in all the time. absolutely flew...
2. bill blydenstein told me to change the oil and filter evry 5k, let the engine warm then use all of the revrange as apparently it loosens and beds everything in perfectly. i did this on my corsa from new and it was great by 40k.
Leyland Trucks once did a manual for their octopus (8wheelers) that stated it had a special running in oil, and at 500miles, it should be drained..... they forgot to mention it needed refilling... exit 200 engines on a huge project in saudi..........
a chipped xe ecu only increases the rev limiter,by which point as standard its ran out of steam anyway so pointless.
A lightened flywheel will make it rev quicker but lose torque.
170bhp from an xe on standard management.No.
oh and was it just me that read the thread title as..."i cant wait to get myself off over my redtop" ???????
ps. for the curious.... the thing in the red top is actually a woman......gini graham scott... an american writer with exceptional taste in clothing
blue top ftw
agreed,cravendale at that:thumb:
gold top tates tastes alot nicer.....
i've never understood how paint can be worth so much power.
i see 170bhp on motronic as this:
296deg cams
pocketed pistons
dbilas bodies kit
remapped motronic ecu (yes, it can be done...)
and a btb/sbd mani etc.
for the outlay, not worth it...
though, i have seen a late c20xe make 173bhp, with a come filter, superchip and btb exhaust..... and that was on 2 sets of rollers.
i see 170bhp on motronic as this:
6 cylinders
24 valves
an extra ~400cc
4 cams
for the outlay, much more worth it...
A lightened flywheel will make it rev quicker but lose torque.
FAIL
FAIL
why? thats what my old boss reckoned
You dont lose torque..... you lose the ability to retain it going up hills etc.
A flywheel is an intertia storage device, you fill it up with the same number every time, just if its lighter it takes less time to fill, and subsequently less time to empty.
yeah he did say that about hills,i just presumed he meant torque

erm what about adams 180bhp, powercap xe lol
Just about the mention that!

That must be a special engine.
;)
Bung a set of 45s onto a Xe and you will be lucky to get 170 tbh on a std lump....

got the print out with it so im happy its better than my 8v i had plus would like a nice gear box :)
i know a lad that bought a championship winning racing golf, with rolling road readouts and he couldn't get near the middle of the grid..... it appears the engine had been swapped.......that is all
pi55ed up pub bhp for the uber win!!!
trip down memory lane...... (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141311&highlight=facts)
