1.4 engine not running properly

i have the 14nv bottom end with the 1.3 head and 32/34 weber. its running fine on tickover but missing on first half of the throttle and running fine on full throttle. it has been compression tested and was 205psi on all 4 cylinders. any ideas as to what could be causing this?

have you set the time up with a timing gun and had the carb set up?

timing been done but cant get it to run right to take it to get carb set up.

have you got the advance/retard connected & working?

is the cam belt timed up ok?

yeah the advance/retard is working and cam timed up ok

its got to be the carb.

pm ade. i think he has the same setup as you on his sr. we fitted it at the nats last year. he might still have the basic setting info, as it was a new complete kit.

is the choke set right, as i'm guessing its a manual one

yeah its a manual choke. aint connected it up though

What jets do you have in?

its either got some crap in it, or it is set really wrong. was the carb running on anything when you got it, do you know if it has been cleaned??

carb has been stipped and built back up with new seals and screws amd diaphragms

left hand side is a 175 and the right hand side is a 75

silly question here but could my carb be fitted to the manifold 180 degrees the wrong way?

just took the manifold off and its got the square ports and dont match the cylinder head as thats cathedral shaped :( think i found the problem

it will still run OK with that inlet manifold, it sounds like your jets are all over the place. Unscrew the ones with 175 and remove, separate the 3 parts and post up the values.

its drawing air in through the side as the square ports are different offsets from the cathedral shaped ones in the head
