I wrote summit down about this before. good job i keep certain things.

"Hmmm Lovely job this is, especially replacing the one on the drivers side.
Anyways you will need:
A Cross headed Screwdriver
(i think) a 10mm spanner/socket for inside the glovebox
To make sure youre mum isnt around cos u will swear Lots!!!!

Anyways remove the glove box for starters (There are two screws at the bottom and 2 screws inside, then a 10mm bolt inside at the bottom)

If u move your seat back and lie in a crippling position on the floor lookin upwards you can see the speaker, disconnect the wires from it to make it easier then try and locate the screws. There are two screws securing the speaker in they are on the side nearest the windscreen. remove these and the speaker should drop out of the clips on the other side and come out.

To do the drivers side i found it took about an hour on my first attempt, the first thing to do is remove the fuse box from its current position do this by removing the lid then pressing the two clips in at the bottom and manouvering it out, it will sit on the parcel shelf below without damaging any wires. Also if you dont have side air vents (to the right of the light controls) then remove the panel (just stick ure hand in the fuse box hole and push it out) this should give you just about enough room to remove the speaker from this side, its in the same position as the other one so just try very hard and swear lots and u should be able to do it.

When i fitted some new speakers in place of the old i paid the lad next door (who is 9 and has small arms) to fit my drivers side, took the little sod about 2 minutes!!!!!"

Enjoy

i done this. It takes a bit to do the drivers side. I found its easier if you tape the screws to the end of the screw driver to guide them in the whole with 1 hand. Then once they are screwed in half way just pul the driver aawayu and the tape should come with it.

yeah they are 10cm. they slide into 2 little holders and then you just screw in 2 screws. You'll see what i mean.

I put Sony XS F1022 in mine. Sounds much better.
These are the ones that came out. Look ancient.

I put 6*9's in the dash of my first beige 1.2 nova. they were a sod to get in there, but they worked. I remember cutting my hands to pieces fitting them though, so give yourself lots of time to do this and recover!!!

lmao, they were motorworld 6*9's so they sounded better than the originals, but at the same time everything else in the dash vibrated!!! plus I think I damaged a few wires around the dash and switches when I was fitting them, cos things never seemed to work right from then on!!!!

(the stereo did though! :) )

i took the fuse panel/holder out and put my hand through there to hold and screw it. Also take the parcel shelf out along the bottom. Then get under neath by brake pedals and put ur arm right up behind.

Or as i found changing my clocks, take out the speedo clocks and come at it from that angle aswell, although i didn't know this when i did my spkrs u might be able to try.
