got a another engine its a x16 8 valve out a 98 astra cant find any markings on gearbox case :confused:

will probv be a f13 or f15. is it hydraulic clutch? pics?

look on the casing (nearest to the inner wing) you will find a flat area about 1"x4" give it a clean and you should find the number someting like F15C394WR or similar

:confused: a wide ratio box would be stamped W394 for example, the C would stand for close ratio :thumb:

still no joy with the gearbox code lots of just randum num tho

I found that F13CR boxes don't have any markings as opposed to the usual F13's which say F13 by the gear selector

look on the gearbox end plate (opposite the bellhousing end) and the stamped code is along the bottom of this. Hope this makes sense

unless it was an Astra sport, my guess is its a wide box.

was just a lx i think has a big drain plug at the drive shaft which is missing

lol lol lol It was just a example of the type of number he was looking for ;)

I know W = wide C = close and 394, 418 etc etc is the final drive, i was just too lazy to go and get a number of my box :d

look around the cover plate (bottom left of pic) use a scouring pad and some water. most of the time you wont see the number as its either covered with crap or painted over
