I can't find the receipt for my super duper wont hold charge Bosche Silver battery, it has a 5 year guarantee but I have a 5 minute grasp of receipts.

Can I go back to Halfrauds and swap it for another one?

Items returned without proof of purchase may only be exchanged at the Store Manager's discretion. Copy & Paste FTW lol

See here CLICKY (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_14552_productId_70 1155_langId_-1_categoryId_173016)

proof of purchase doesnt have to be receipt,
if you have a copy of your bank statement showing a transaction to halfords on the approximate date that should suffice!

when a friend bought one from halfrauds, they said hold onto the recipt as it is your warranty.

Print this out on a old printer and say you photocopied it. :) Say you bought it whilst on holiday in Wiltshire.

As BMX said, the receipt is the warranty, I'd need that for claims. Thats what I was told when I bought a silver a few weeks back.

Thats a bit grey though, as all it shows is you bought something, not what you bought?

Are you sure its not holding charge? Sure its not something on the car draining the power?

Cheers for the replys guys.

I can't get any charge into the battery, it;s reading just over naff all volts, Jump starting nor charging with a battery charger are doing anything to it. The battery off my Corsa is fine on my Nova and so is the spare I had that was originally replaced by the Silver

I took a hellfrauds battery back to hellfrauds 12 months after purchase with no recipt after the regulator failed and made the battery hold 18V lol

they have date related serial numbers and can work out a rough age etc.

I took it in wearing a glove as it had dumped fluid everywhere.... the monkey picks it up bare handed and wonders why it tingles lol

If they question it will they be able to check their records as they "fitted" it... don't laugh I know how to fit a battery lol. I was buying a cheaper one, they said if we say we've fitted it I can do you the Bosche one £15 cheaper, so it was nearly the same price as the Halfrauds own battery so I had it.

The car was at home so luckily they never touched it

i feel i should say something as your all slagging off my place of work. with the battie if you say its dead and get them to use there tester on it if it show a dead sell they should change it. just say that it one a week or so old and if you know when and what time you got it they should be able to reprint your recite for you. .
Halfords are not as bad as people say most staff you meet in the eveing are part timers who are only there for the money.

It's a shop that is hit and miss with it's employees like any that employ part time staff, or casuals

The lad that I just spoke to was professional and approached to help whilst I was second in the que, so I'm greatful of that. But on a whole as a company I try not to buy from them as some of their prices are ludicrous.

One of my mates(Of Fiesta top mount video fame lol) used to work there, he's very clued up on his Audio but most in there have no clue on the products they try and sell you, this is probably the companies fault for not educating it's staff

The result was "Come back with the receipt or a bank statement, sorry"

I rarely buy anything from there. The only reason I got the battery was their opening times are more 21st century then local Motor factors
