As said above they are not live, We had a cat do this many years ago. Sad but these things happen.
one of them is breathing and sort of moving a bit though...
what can/should i do lol
Only thing you can do is put it/them nearer to the mother and see if they have the strength to suckle from her, probably not though!

Doubt they would, Judging by the size of them they are weeks off what they should have been.
Is she a first time mother?
cheers mate, will see what happens then :(
Yeh 1st time mother, shes not even 1 yet and only small herself

Worth a try moving them closer, They might have other problems that come about due to the prem birth. I doubt they will survive the night.
My mum used to bread cats
They do look a little early tbh mate, keep them warm tho
Seriously tho if they die take them away from the mum as quickly as possible because the mum COULD eat them dead kitten, not good, I'm not messing about this, my mum bread cats for 10years plus so trust me.
Edd
When they are born you need to rub them a little to start they're hearts properly, iv had to do this when my mums cat gave birth when she was on holiday.
As above keep them warm and be very gentle if you rub them as they will be more fragile than you can possibly imagine, they may survive but you might have to feed them by hand though, milk or boiled (then cooled obviously) water will suffice!

Awww bless her,
As Spud says, the PDSA are funded by donations, so maybe its worth getting mum there, she may need an ultra sound to make sure all the kittens have been born......you only need to bung £10/20 into an envelope.
Hope everything is ok with her..
Is it sad that ive just been upstairs and picked up my kitten for hugs cos this thread makes me wanna
lol
spudly, why boiled then chilled water?
whats wrong with tap water?
sorry for noob question

To sterilise it
fair enough, but the mum drinks tap water and so do i?
is this just as there so young?
Is the mum cat showing any interest in the kittens ?

Your immune system is good, their's will be virtually non existant
bit off topic but i think you should get your can insured incase of further misahaps
no she just seems to be going to sleep edd.
:(
doesnt seem bothered about them..
i pay enough to insure my let nova, not insuring a bloody cat lol

lol
Of course not... it's making me very sad too, I'm getting my kitten hopefully friday night and it's making me want to give Bob( the kitten) big hugs too...:( Guess the dog will have to do!!
I love animals and it breaks my heart to see this.
Get her Spaid though to avoid it happening again
it only cost about 4 pound saves having to get it put down or give it up due to large vet bills .
Yeh were going to now rysee, i didnt realise she was pregnant.
Cheers for the help people :)

She's really young, it wouldn't have crossed my mind either really

:( tbh that kind of tells the story as 99% of the time if the mum doesn't take to them they sense something is up with them, mum should be looking after them and trying to keep them warm.
IMO opinion try and get the mum to notice them in someway, put her nose near them.
if theyre dead, do i bin them or bury them?
guessing to bury them, but i'd hate something to dig them up. ie next doors dog

I really would get her checked over soon, if those babies are still born there may be still some inside her as a cat can have up to 8 kittens per litter.
Also they can have 2-3 litters per year so i would really consider getting her spayed too.

This is why I asked if she was a first time mother, I doubt she would have any intrest in them.
As bad as it sounds I have flushed still borns down the toilet, not a pleasant thing to do but I burried some for my mum and they were dug up, I just wrapped them in toilet paper and flushed them.
If they or some are still born the mum will need to go to the vet asap FACT as a operation might be needed.
How quickly did all this happen ?
about 15 mins prior to posting this thread,
what do you mean still born edd? Edit - im guessing dead?

My mum had 4 first time mothers, 2 were only are year old when they gave birth and all but 1 took straight away to the new borns, the other which didn't all the kittens died.
In most but not all the mother will know if they're healthy or not, in the wild there would be no point the mother wasting her energy on looking after new borns if they are unhealthy.

Yeah dead at birth.
Main thing with still born shizzle is that there could still be one inside her, the afterbirth probably hasn't come out, which will cause the mother distress or worse.
I would seriously get the mum to a vet asap mate.
Are some dead then ?
there were 2 that werent even anything that resembled a cat :S
the 3 here were breathing when they came out though

omg thats awful! they dont look fully formed, i think shes defo miscarried, think you should get mum sorted as a priority, try to help the breathing kitten but i dont think it will last the night :( poor things
If you can keep them alive to the morning, ring vet and see what they say mate, i have to sleep now, good luck mate
Thanks for your help edd.
still cant belive i didnt notice her being pregnant lol :(

tbh, i doubt she was more than 2 or 3 weeks, cats are only pregnant for 9 or 10 weeks at most - about 62 days so dont blame yourself dude, everything happens for a reason
how did you get on last night Shaun ?

All will hopefully be good! :)

Awww i actually went to bed thinking about this, sorry the babies died but its natures way of saying they were not meant to be.
Hopefully Mum will get the all clear from the vet and can put all this behind her.
