Is it always best to push the inital offered value when a car is written off? Its from the other guys insurance - they offered me 700 for a 1.L - i have had a little work done, to get through MOT, but i only paid 500 for it... mention the new handbrake cable/lights/bodywork? Joe

?700 is not bad at all for a 1 litre nova. Is it modified in any way? how much have you spent on it. You may be able to get a bit more, but like i said ?700 isn't bad

depending on the quality of the bodywork on it etc i would say 700 quid was good for a 1 litre.

Is i mean was a real real clean standard car, only slight bit of bubble rust from around the rear arch, worth a bit more that ?700 imo try to push them for a bit more!

are there any storage/recovery charges.... if no then point out how this cost has been saved by you storing the car.... garages charge ?12.50 per day storage

Nova girls mum had a 1.8 astra sxi that they paid ?400 for and then was written off whilst parked up. They got ?900 for it off the insurance!

On the other hand sometimes it is worth taking the money, buying it back and putting it back on the road.

What year was it? ?700 seems good.

i paid 1300 for my sri when someone crashed into it they first offered me 1000 i told them to fuck off and they came up with ?1700, and i got to keep the car :D

ok got 730 and injury claim coming up - said nothign they can do about stuff like windows/servicing costs or mot's and stuff coz its maintainance

just rememberd i need to check that this don't include storage and recovery charges but i'm happy with 730

also they are gonna talk to me about injury and work loss compensation

and i've got the corsa for another week...

so what car next? my mum wants me to get a punto :roll: J

Got one last chance to visit the car now its been inspected and an offer made. Got all the ice, wiring and stuff out of it and gonna get the central locking stuff and speakers. Anything else worth stripping out that they wouldn't notice? J

730 for a 1 litre? bloody hell i was ripped off lol

when mine was assesed..i got offered 720 for a 1.2...mine was a standard 5 door, with rust on the arches, and on the right hand doors..and there was a slight bump in the right hand wing from when i bought it..so 730 is a very good price for the 1 litre..
