Anyone fancy a cheap track day? It's aimed at novices, I've only done 2, and they were well over 2years ago (been broke / car broke).

There's AM, PM and all day options. Me and my brother have gone for the AM slots, £79... :thumb: Open pit and 4hours on track. It's the full GT circuit, so should be a good crack and 101db limit :( Just got to finish the car and MOT it.

Anyone know any companies that offer temp cover for driving to events? I'm struggling and dont really want to go for annual cover.

Cheers!

dayinsure

Wont work sadly, as they'll only insure unmodified vehicles. Mine's non standard and registered as 2litre.

I've tried adrian flux, no joy... Think you should keep off the glue :d

You could try competition car insurance they might be able to help you out, i wouldnt mind doing this day but i dont think i would get through the noise and not sure i could pass as a novice although i still have my novice cross

I had a quote of Competition Car Insurance a couple of months back for an annual policy, will give them a call. I'm a little concerned about the noise... I've got a decibel meter and it's reading 102ish :( I think i'll have to pop up when they're running another day and get a check.

Anyone got an DB reducing tricks?

Trackday insurance is different again, it covers you for time on track not getting to it. I had it included in my policy, along with agreed valuation, 3rd party cover on over vehicles etc. that was all with HIC who although don't quote against Adrian Flux, always turned out to be cheaper...

easiest way to bring your noise levels down a few dB is to add a supertrap

I missed out on one on ebay... Sold really cheap as well!! I was looking at the bike exhaust inserts, but doing a bit of research they apparently dont work well with cars.

My brother works for Palmers and I asked him to try and get me some discount got a call today saying hes got me on the whole day for nothing!
To say im happy is an understatment. Now I just need to get my redtop in before then and do everything else it needs or ill be taking it as a 1L lol

Supertrapps also bring down your horsepower too! Poxy things.

As for insurance - Bluefin : http://www.bluefingroup.co.uk/businesses/insurancesolutions/specialistexperience/motorsport.html

I was just thinking that... Surely I get some as a finders fee :d

Also regarding the "no track/race cars permitted" question, basically as long as the car isn't stickered up and numbered etc it will be fine. I think as it's a "novice" day, they want people with more standard cars. However, I did clarify that my xe on carbs with cage, no interior 2 seats etc is allowed lol and likewise for my bro's 2.1 8v with similar spec.

i understand race cars but most people have track cars as such. cage etc.
dont need a ultima hacking round you if your a novice lol. ive been to this track on my 2 trackdays so hopefully they wont think im pro and let me in. lol

might be going to this if i can get a few mates to pop along.

I also had to work in the morning so didnt make it till the afternoon session and my biggest thing was my Nova wanst ready so had to take my let mk1 Astra:eek: But im glad I did as I had so much fun and cant wait for the next one when I wil be in the Nova.

Saw the mention of track insurance earlier.... imho its a waste of time unless you have a £20K+ car

Ah, I didn't want track cover, just temp cover to drive to the track. Ended up trailering so no problems.
