As she was last week, yet another on the way to being a GSi rep, till i thought bit like a nova with a GSi bumper and speedlines, i saw Ste Porter post about breaking a mars bar turbo so dived in with an offer on the turbo wheels, after a road trip out and a good day spent in Lincoln last weekend, my original bumper repainted and picked up on friday we now have a nice change, two pics to show how she was and then a load from yesterday to show as she is now...

Bumper swap is top, always thought the GSi bumper looked gash.

Wheels look good, shame they're not sided though

I dont like it, preferd it with the facelift GSi front.
Need to get rid of those balloon tyres.

TBH looking at it more i think i preferd the old wheels too :s

Fair play Aw, but every man and his dog has a GSi bumper on their vectra and i dont want to be every man, nor his dog, the SRi wheels dont match the bumper and i didnt want it to look standard, ive seen one before on turbo rims and really liked it (the simps black estate) and always thought i might like to give it a go, the wheels came up at a good price and my bumper sale funded them and the fuel to go get them so its win win as im up on funds and still have my SRi wheels to sell lol

I know some wont like it but there arent many vectras that are styled this way, whereas there are millions of SRi and GSi styled ones, so for someone who wants to stay away from the normal trend of mods its a no brainer really!

To the average joe it just looks like any other vectra with some alloys wanged on. I thought half the reason of modded cars was to step away from standard looks.

Spudly
15-08-10, 09:32 PM
Yeah but youre average Joe wont spot a modded car if you park it on his toe, whereas the enthusiast will see the wheels and think hmm cav turbo wheels they look poo/good on that, im not doing it to impress peeps im doing it because i likes it so theyre staying but wanted to show others what ive done and see what they think, you dont like them which is fair enough, not a problem, tis an opinion like i asked for:thumb:

Cheers Mark i loved them on the Simps vec and wanted to emulate once he had changed his lol

Jack they would be far better if they were sided but alas vaux and their short sightedness

Cheers Rick, ive got the wheels just need the cav to roll on them :thumb:

shagged in it yet ?

only gays have GSi bumpers on non-GSi cars imo

Spudly

Cheers dude had a feeling youd like the rims lol

Wouldnt mind a preface GSi bumper but wouldnt work with a facelift vec imo, noone leaves the SRi bumpers on and they dont look too bad so i thought meh ill have it refurbed and bang it back on:thumb:

tbf on an estate i recon you could get away with the pre face lift gsi bumper as the rear end is the same so only real difference is colour coded rub stripe and skirts

Spudly
15-08-10, 11:44 PM
I reckon estates are the hardest to style individually and have them looking right, ive seen some that look exactly the same as every other and some that really stand out and not many stand out from the crowd as not many carry anything other than GSi bumpers lol

I might look into a preface bumper but for now the OE one is staying, the GSi one paid for my turbo wheels and almost covered my OE bumper refurbing:thumb:

Liking it. Good you've gone with a sensible tyre choice too - 195/45s can cause a few issues when you've got it slammed aswell lol

I've just put a mk2 gsi bumper on mine as I cracked my sri in the winter and a gen gsi one came up in my color very cheap so grabbed it. finishes the car off in my opinion. I'll have to get some new pics.

Cheers for the feedback peeps, i thought id get more comments saying it looks gash actually lol

Definately keeping the 50 profiles on as 45 would be too low and harsh for a daily i think, she did have 55s on so a noticable improvement on handling too!

Southie, not sure on the grill tbh but wouldnt badge it opel cos its not one lol
