is the pin that the rotor arm slips onto bent? take the cap off and turn it over, see if the rotor arm runs true?

i would expect to see some 'tracking' marks on the contacts on the cap, is this what you mean by worn down?

The contracts in the cap are cut/filled off as new. That's the clearance of the arm to turn in.

no not tracking marks really worn away would this being bent cause the car to missfire badly?????

not had it myself, it was just an idea, is it rotating corectly? or wobbling like a buckled wheel?

is ALL of the contact points worn?

yes looks buckeled like a wheel???? is it a pin or would the cam be buckeled??? the back contacts worn more than the one on the front if that makes sence.....

take the dizzy off and rotate by hand see if its ok

my money is on the dizzy pin not the cam

another daft question.......your dizy cap and rotor arm are the same colour ar'nt they? red/red or black/black?

ok m8 will do thanks do you think this would give the car timing issues????

Steve0011

not so much timing but dodgy spark for sure, the spark jumps across from the rotor to the cap terminals prob about a 1mm or so they are not supposed to touch

your rotor and cap are the same colour, right?

yes both like a browny colour....... car wont idle happily and backfires when revs are picked up new conversion but i know engine was ok in donor car put the new dizzy cap and rotor arm on but no differance......????
