I had this up for sale last year for a week but didnt want to sell it so took it off. The reason i am wanting to sell now is that i am having a car and parts clearout so i can buy a nice car sometime early next year, if it wasnt for that i would be keeping the car as it really is stunning and i love driving it!

Before i put up the full spec i will list the problems the car has and although it is in fully roadworthy and driving condition and has a long MOT on it, if the car doesnt sell i know i can get the cash splitting it and will do so if there is no interest (hence why i am advertising it on here before scrapping the perfectly decent shell).

Firstly, the car was a 328 from the factory but due to the VERY common 2.8 engine failures i put a 2.5 engine in it beginning of last year and havnt changed the logbook yet (we all know on here it's an easy change). Another very common fault these cars have is the motors on the electric roof stop working, i bought the car with this problem and although i got one motor working, the rear panel motor doesnt want to pick up, could either need a new motor or something else to fix it (theres guides all over the net to show how), i have never really looked into it as i have disconnected it and use it as a manual, literally takes a few seconds to put down and doesnt bother me. Lastly the engine has a rough idle once the engine gets warm, the engine itself revs up and sounds spot on, but once stationary the revs sort of shake but still stays below 1k at all times.

So now those few problems are out of the way this is the car itself :

I bought this car with LOADS of receipts. It truly amazed me at how much money previous owners have spent on this, from services, maintainence to bringing it up to the full factory spec. As you may know the 328 coupes from factory where fitted with the MTEC kit, however the convertibles were not. After looking at how the kit has been put on and through receipts I am guessing that the bumpers and skirts are a factory fit, and then a previous owner bought the mirros, etc to suit.

The spec:

Built - December 1995
Colour - Maderia Violet (believe is quite a rare colour)
Mileage - 115k
Tax - 31/09/2010
Mot - 25/03/2011

Engine : 2.5 engine fitted, recently serviced . Uprated filter and 2.8 manifold. Has a genuine AC backbox with a receipt for £700. Sounds and pulls very well.

Suspension : Nearly new front coilovers (fitted after the pics were taken and at the moment is seriously low), Gmax rear shocks with a pair of very low uprated springs.

Wheels : Genuine staggered M3 wheels, scuffed around the edges but shine up very well. All tyres have more than legal tread.

Interior : Genuine Front M3 vader seats in amazing condition, (you wont see another convertible on your travels with the same seats), rear seats are blue leather to match the full blue carpet and black and blue doorcards. Really clean and nice looking interior. Apart from needing a few clips to secure the doorcards its in perfect condition.

Exterior : Genuine Front bumper with either the EVO lip or the gt style splitter I have fitted now. Genuine skirts and genuine rear bumper and black diffuser. Genuine M3 spoiler and also genuine M3 mirrors with a receipt for £400. Blue roof which is in decent condition and the rear screen is mark and mist free. Genuine M3 rear lights.

Condition : The paintwork is pretty much perfect, looks absolutely stunning once on the roads, pictures REALLY don't do the car any justice whatsoever. The only faults with the paint is a few mm chip on the drivers front arch (I could get it sprayed for around £30), and the passenger mirror skirts have an inch scratch mark on it, just needs touching up. Really is in fantastic condition other than those very small marks.

Any viewing welcome, I have tried to be as honest as possible. I have got a private plate on the car at the moment but will obviously be taking it off straight away and the original N reg be put back on.

More pictures are available on request.

This shows the height of it with the coilovers fitted, you may want me to raise it Lol

Without the faults i would be wanting around £3,500 for this, however seen as i want rid of it i will let it go for £2,500. Let me know if there is any interest, will take the reg off this week and put it on pistonheads sometime after that.

Im not after a project sorry. As said the reason i am selling this (and also my pug) is to help me gather money for a more expensive car. I may swap for a car that i could easily sell on but would prefer a cash sale tbh.

I have priced it at £2,500 as any cheaper i will be better off splitting it and using some parts to get my other bm on the road. If it didnt have the few faults it has then i would be wanting top money for it as it really is one of the nicest E36s around imo and you will not find a better M3 replica.

I have just filled in the retention forms and will hopefully go down to dvla in the morning to sort it so i am serious about wanting this car going asap, will be a great shame to scrap this shell though as it's totally rust free and looks great.

could you pleas tell me why you have fitted a 2.8 manifold to the car ?

When i was taking the 2.5 engine out of the donor car i had to grind the manifold off lol so i thought i may aswell just use the manifold that was on my car to start with.

Edit : im on about an exhaust manifold by the way. Im aware about the 2.5 inlets and gaining more power.

As said above, ideally want cash. If this is for your mum or anybody else who wants it practical the front coilovers can be raised to standard height really and i will either put some different rear springs in or chuck in a coilover bit for them to raise the rear. I can also fit the standard evo front lip on instead of the gt one i have on at the moment.

Also note that this car can be driven very quiet and doesnt rumble like alot of bmws you hear, but when you put your foot down the 6cylinder noise is obviously sexy enough lol

lol that's ok then. It does look awesome how low it is, but i can bet she or anybody else will want it raising Lol.

Saying that, if i raise it to how the first pics show then it was driveable over speedbumps and everything and still looks decent.

Lee, Ive had 2 x 325 E36's and both have done the same thing as the revs your on about. seems a common thing, my current one does it all the time when warm but doesnt affect performance etc. So dont be put off by that guys, proper bargain! wish i had some spare cash

Cheers mate. If it did bother me i would of fixed it by now, as said the revs dont go crazy, it just sort of shakes the car a bit.

Cheers mate. Sadly for me though it makes more sense to strip it even though it does look nice and is a spotless shell :(
