quick question, a J reg nova with a 20XE engine ( no lambda and no cat ) will it pass an mot emmisions test or does it require a cat?

my H reg is pre cat so its fine but what year of manufactor is the watershed for cat cars?

doesnt need a cat as the engine is out of an older car and J plate doesnt need a cat anyway, K and later do buddy.

if your mot station is friendly ( ie not a nob ) then if its a early 20XE they should know thats a pre euro2 emission engine therefor not requiring a cat, either that or you have to prove the year of production for the engine, ( ive been doing a little searching )

Search previous posts I've covered this in lots of detail before based on a problem I had with a k plate and 1995 engine. Suffice to say VOSA agree with me ;)
