i havent changed my oil in 22 months, but it ahs a mild leak so its probably running totaly on the oil from sainsbruys forecourt.

my cam was a bit noisey so i checked my oil to find it was below empty!! Funs sweet as now. I was told not to use these new magnatec stuff and things like that cos there for new engines (even though you can get some for older engines) . I am using Shell mineral oil from my local motor factors. He said that would be as good as any for my 1.2 carbed nova.

seen as u have that engine id say 'castrol magnetec GTX 'for basic engines' 15w/40w' and make sure its the 1 for basic engines not the other 1.
i used this on my sr/gte and sri and its good stuff :)

mobil 1 soon as the engines fixed ( the car had been run on mobil 1 for a whilen before i got it, dont even think about putting that oil in ur sr that has been running on 15/40 coz its going tokmake a mess) for older engines i think 10/40 semi is fine depends on the state of your engine though. also vauxhall 8v engines love to eat cam shafts :D

wtf

15/40 is gonna make a mess use 10/40 insted lol

10/40 is thinner and shud not be used on older engines, you can use 10/40 mobil1 but at ?40 a can and ul b burning it quickly as its thin then go for it :P

i got 8 cans of castrol rs 10/60 in my garage but iv decided to save what i have left as i used to have 24 cans on it :D

not bad at ?40 each :)

Hi,

15w/40 Valvoline mineral oil. Does the job just fine for me. Same stuff as me m8 uses in his monstertruck (1200+bhp!!!) so if it can take that then it is doing well..

Also use the Diesel oil by valvoline in my 106. good stuff...

The missus has used Mobil 1 0w/40 since she owned her Cally (16K) and the engine is still strong as fuck (68K)

key thing here is to NOT MIX SYNTHETIC AND MINERAL OILS. got that?

good!

valvoline fully synthetic 5/50, ive never had a problem with it, and the engine runs sweet and as a nut on it. Very quite in a morning and even better when up to temp

Baby oil.

Aaaaaaanyway. It doesn't really matter that much which oil you use, as long as it's changed regularly.

yeah 10/40 way too thin

i think at the moment mines on 'carlube triple r' 15/40 semi.

they mostly come from the same refinaries anyway. look on the back at all the international standards labels, theyre all mostly the same.

oh apart from a few million pounds marketting, a different sticker and ?20 extra on the price ticket lmao
