that convoy looks very clean
Looks mighty clean for a sea faring vessel
that looks too clean to break can i have it
Tidy little donor car that.
Lets hope its a valver, not an ecopoo lol
A "valver" is a 16v engine.whether its an x20 or c20
I'm guessing on an M plate it is a XE

he already said its ecopoop
No. It's an ecotec.
We have an XE 4x4 at the moment (getting sold on, not scrapped though) and as much as I want to hate it, it actually handles really well and it has the cloth interior which is very nice (I hate leather as a rule, can't even sit on my mum's sofa-personal issue!)
I'd have my 8v Cav over it any day but I no longer hate Calibras. I wouldn't go as far as to say I like them though lol
So is this going to be used or sold on? Not bad for a Cali I suppose :p

Calibras are cool! (ecotec spoils it a bit though)
looks nice, shame its an ecowreck though
i dont know why everyone dislikes callys so much, personally i love them, i'd really like a 3.2 V6 in one :D and the leather is comfy as fook, and it DOES support you. that is unless your an amaciated, glue sniffing dwarf who just rattles about in them :p

Tidy. get your moneys worth and run it til t&t is out and then use it as a donor ?
170k on the clock with tons of vauxhall paper work with work carried out. need to have a read through it.
no tax or MOT at the mo, but will see what it needs to be MOT'ed as it might be more money in it that way.
and im sure that's a personal plate...
i had a 2.0 8 v calibra years ago

They've got a bit of poke, true, but unless they've been scrupulously maintained from new then they are an enormous pain in the rectum. Still, he could bin the engine (or sell it) and stick a real engine in it instead (V6 or a LET) and that would be ace.

if i ever stray to the dark side.... i will be getting an ecotec way before i get an xe, it will be 10-15 years newer for a start. & it won't have been ragged by every lad who got near it

That's certainly true, but unless it's got full dealer servicing history you can't be sure that it hasn't been run with a less than 50 / 50 anti-freeze mixture and the Ecotec's are very sensitive to this. Once the HG has blown as a result, getting the head right again is a real ballache.
ecotecs are massively underrated, theyre good engines

Not disagreeing, fella. They are good engines - they just need to have been regularly and correctly serviced.

Looks OK, red 16v badge makes me think it was a proper XE though, I guess someone put it on there wishing it was Redtop Y0. Certainly looks half clean & better than that nasty Golf thing you had.
I hate leather also.
any more goin that cheap wouldn mind one i like those
^ you want a c20xe though not an ecopoo
yea prefered but wouldn mind a ecopoo as a daily driver

Clearly not as he would have purchased one with a C20XE.
Eco's are pretty good motors. Usual attitude of Redtop Y0.
Back on ebay already?
no no, thats the person i bought it from, im guessing that they havent ended it yet.
you should know, its not my user name, 1st call motors or what ever it is lol.
and craig abotu the red 16v thing, i thought that about it being a redtop, ill have a look through the paper work and see if they had an engine replacement or something...
Ok so I picked this up tonight. Traailered home fine.
Had a look through the paper work. Reicpts for over 8k with 90% being vauxhall.
Every MOT since new.
Good times lol

had an ecotec engined chav and that would waste any redtop chav hands down
IMO they saw you coming! £325 for a 15year old calibra with 170k miles and no tax or test! And its an Ecotec so if broken the engine will only realise £100 if you lied about the mileage!
Not for me thanks! I think the most i have ever payed for a calibra is £100 and that includes a turbo! (£80) lol

I als thought £325 was very strong for this, just didnt want to be first to say it.
Can get ecotec Calibras with 70k and full T + T for £500
lol i think 325 is a good price tbh
there is money there,
leather
alloys
engine
scrap of the shell,
cat.
i wont be loosing money lol
lol i think 325 is a good price tbh
there is money there,
leather £75 if your lucky
alloys £100 if good tyres
engine £100 if your very lucky
scrap of the shell, £100
cat. £30-40
i wont be loosing money lol
Plus the other **** like an F18 that no one will want, clocks etc Ok you might earn £100-200 out of it but by the time you minus the fuel of going to collect it and the effort of stripping it and then listing all the parts and wrapping and posting IMO its not worth the hassle!
lol i tyhink im with the others martin, they had yer pants down. i got offered one exactly the same last week for £50, down my street and i said no. leather is 100 tops, eco is £100 tiops with box etc, and the rest is bin fodder.
meh, if i loose i loose lol.

sold my calibra leather for £130 lol
i couldn't ever sell a leather interior i had, let it go for a tenner just to get shut in the end.
just try selling it with a ticket... there are literally dozens of people who don't hate calibras.......
agree/\ id mot it and ebay it, 600 reserve

the only parts i sold was the brakes, interior,xe engine and i gave away the wings, bumpers away for free so i agree keep it complete and sell it rather than break it.
i dont know why everyone dislikes callys so much
If you were making a 2dr sports coupé, would you start with a Vectra? Thought not. lol
/\they are too big to be a sports coupe....... they are too gutless to be a proper sports car....
they aren't as pretty as a 406 coupe.
they are just a cavalier in a frock
its a cav underneath jack....
its a cav underneath jack....
And what is a cav? :p
And what is a cav? :p
Very old now!lol cav gsi floorpan at that!
TBH calibra's arent to bad, but you do need a bit of poke to make them a satisfying drive. My friend had a 3.0ltr v6 which was a nice car but sports cars they arent and when pushed they dont like it very much!
And what is a cav? :p
a vauxhall? lol
rob, you should like them cos the floorpan was the mainstay of the saab range for the last 15 odd years, wasn't it?

Was the standard cavalier rear beam floor plan for saab's!;)
so the basic cally wil be the same then.........
so the basic cally wil be the same then.........
No, all calibra's are independant rear suspension like a cav gsi!;)
Only cav turbo's, 4x4's and gsi's came with the independant rear suspension!
All other cavalier's are rear beamed like a nova!
well, i learnt something new today... so why do they wallow so much then?
well, i learnt something new today... so why do they wallow so much then?
Worn shocks, bushes, cars heavy (the doors weigh 9 tonne eachlol).;)
ok lol. i will work towards the MOT idea and give it a good look over etc.
