Ive got a nova 1.2 merit, its a mk2 model and on the instrument panel there are 2 lights to do with brakes, (P) which means the handbrake is on and (!) which means brake failure. When i brake hard the brake failure light (!) comes on and then goes off when i release the pedal. There is plenty of brake fluid in it and ive got new pads and discs on it. So, why would this light be coming on? Cheers

bad wire/connection. i think its connected to the top of the fluid container, check those conectors

Nice one mate, i will check that connection! What makes that light come on? Is it fluid level or pressure or something else like brake pad wear?

fluid level

if fluid is under halfway and u do some heavy stylee braking it will prolly come on too mine does  since your both using some fluid on braking and the fluid is flowing to the front of the tank
