Will my mpi external fuel pump run a spi x16 astra engine ?:thumb:

wont that be over-fuelling it? you might not be able to regulate fuel pressure..?

no fuel pressure will be too high for it itll be pumping too much

?? The fuel regulator on the rail will control fuel pressure. The pump has nothing to do with it*. It'll be fine.

* unless of course it is underspec'd for the fuel demand. In this case not as the 1.4 MPi pump is fine on a 2 litre engine.

As Phazer said, the pump is irrelevant to an extent.
The regulator on the tb will still keep the pressure low enough for a SPi system.

Its the other way round that doesnt work, SPi pumps cant pump against 2-3bar pressure like a mpi system needs.

cheers lads too late ripped all the spi **** of ready for all the e16 mpi stuff dnt think i could live with 75 bhp
