Whenever I brake hard I'm experiencing some brake judder on my 1.4SR.
I know this is not from dodgy wheel bearings as I've recently replaced them.
The pads are also fine and the pots on the calipers are nice and free moving.

Could it be wharped disks???

Cheers

Matt

how easy is a track end rod to replace?

If i managed a wheel bearing do u think i'll get away with doin it myself???

Cheers mate

yes

jack the car up and see if the wheel wobbles top in bottom out kind of thing first

if not its just warped disks

hey i go this prob, also seems to be a litle bit more play in the steering than there used to be. jacked the car up last night and there is no play wot so ever in track rod ends, had new bottom ball joints not long ago either then tracking done. i also get the shake in my steering column when i brake (quite bad now) so i shall get some new discs on there.
still worried about this other prob though.

if i drive at about 40-50 and waddle the steering wheel about 1cm each way i can feel a bit of play, maybe its in the column itself?

yer my da thaught the same when he had a warped disk on his transit

sterring used to shudder like a mofo under any braking at all

at high speeds it was like THUD THUD THUD THUD.............

few months like that then the caliper bolts snapped... at 60mph on the motorway

so if i were u i'd get it sorted

plus - if it is a trackrod end (like mine) then your fucking your tires so check that first

fcuk your tyres

lol ye. some1 hit side of me dads car (hard) while ago and damaged some bits, got al body work done and what we could see was damaged.

he had new tyres on front, could see 1 was wearing on inside, so we replaced bal joint, then couple weeks later jacked car up to change oul, thought hmm whats that dodgy stuff glued to me tyre, it was the metal strands from inside the tyre :o

had worn down that quickly cuz lower arm was bent, got that sorted and been fine sinse;)

its the wheel bearing thats causing it i think, its always done it while i've owned it (just over a year) and it passed the mot in August so in theory it should be safe. if it fails the mot this year then i'll sort it
